About us
ACL was created around the fundamental principle that all people, regardless of age or disability, should be able to live independently and fully participate in their communities. By advocating across the federal government for older adults, people with disabilities, and families and caregivers; funding services and supports provided by primarily by networks of community-based organizations; and investing in training, education, research and innovation, ACL helps make this principle a reality for millions of Americans. ________ The federal government has a variety of Special Hiring Authorities to make it easier for veterans to access federal employment. For detailed information on Special Hiring Authorities, please visit fedshirevets.gov https://www.fedshirevets.gov/job-seekers/veterans/special-hiring-authorities/ - Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) - Disabled Veterans Enrolled in a VA Training Program - Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA) - 30% or More Disabled Veteran Examples of other Special Hiring Authorities: The following Special Hiring Authorities are other Authorities available to be used by veterans but are not complete. - Schedule A Appointing Authority for People with Certain Disabilities https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/unique-hiring-paths/individuals-with-disabilities/ - Pathways

March is 31 days. But having a disability? 24/7, 365. NACDD is excited to kick off March with a year-round disabilities awareness campaign that reminds everyone that “We’re Here All Year.” Community, accessibility, and opportunities for people with developmental disabilities should be recognized and championed every day—not just in March. Through this campaign, you will meet people from across the United States and learn about their everyday life and why their community is a better place when they can contribute to it. Share Now: https://lnkd.in/gzCSk9r5 Meet us, know us, involve us. #WeReHereAllYear #NACDD #DDAwareness

I so enjoyed my meeting with tribal leaders and elders from my advisory committee. Past administrations have treated Indian Health Service as a red-headed stepchild. This administration will make Indian Country a priority.
