It was a pleasure to speak at the 3rd ESA Security Conference, in Poland – a valued Member State of ESA and my directorate, ESA’s Connectivity and Secure Communications.   The importance of space assets in our world, economy and everyday lives is ever-increasing, and space will be pivotal in ensuring a secure and resilient environment to foster growth and address challenges in these key areas.   ESA’s Strategy 2040 supports Europe’s ambitions in space with our programme proposal to the Ministerial in November. 🙌Together with ESA Technology, we're celebrating a successful 5th Workshop on Advanced Flexible Telecom Payloads! The workshop, which was hosted at European Space Agency - ESA's European Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications (ECSAT) on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, brought together 130 satellite communications stakeholders from organisations across 20 countries. 🛰️Key highlights included: breakthrough innovations in reconfigurable satellites, digitally configurable payload units, and AI-driven autonomous networks that are helping Europe maintain its competitive edge in the global telecommunications market. 🗣️"Facilitating knowledge exchange and driving innovation is key to supporting a more competitive European and Canadian ecosystem, with demand for flexible solutions growing across the globe," said Ashley Cook, Space Segment Engineer for ESA's Connectivity and Secure Communications. 🗣️“This edition came at the right time, highlighting key developments such as direct-to-device connectivity, efficient telecom payload architectures and software-defined payloads,” said Adem Coskun, On-board Payload Data Processing Engineer at ESA Technology. 💡Read more about how ESA is strengthening Europe's position in satellite communications 👉 https://lnkd.in/esg--EP9
