Me vs We: personal brand vs corporate identity Our very own Victoria Richardson shares her take on the growing tension between personal branding and corporate representation in her latest piece in Prolific North – a must-read for business leaders, brand managers, and anyone navigating modern workplace dynamics. This topic was also front and centre at our recent sold-out "ME v WE" event with pro-manchester. From “seeking forgiveness not permission” to the importance of brand ambassadors who truly understand company values, one key theme echoed loud and clear: authenticity wins. We had a depleted team in the office at RMS - PR | Marketing | Design today but it didn’t stop a long-standing tradition … our Easter Egg Tombola! Everyone wins but some win better than others! Our absent colleagues each have a tasty surprise awaiting their return next week. #Easter #traditions #officeculture

We've reached the half-way point of the RMS - PR | Marketing | Design Bake Off, which involves each member of the team taking a turn to bake something. This week Richard Evans followed the 'back to basics' theme started last week with a platter of succulent chocolate brownies. Decorated with a light dusting of icing sugar, melted white chocolate and mini eggs, his offering gave a hat-tip to Easter with with two bunny 'bouncers' protecting his fare. Next week, it's the turn of Andrew Avery-Torrance to put his baking skills to the test. #BakeOff #teambuilding #officeculture

How can junior lawyers stand out in a profession where late-night heroics are no longer the measure of success? Our founder Ruth Shearn was invited to share her perspective in The Brief Talks To feature by BCL Legal, which explores what it takes to thrive as a junior lawyer in today’s evolving legal landscape. Her advice? Build your personal brand - authentically. In a sector where technical ability is expected as standard, Ruth explains why it’s the human qualities - communication style, lived experience, humour, empathy - that create standout professionals. And visibility matters. From speaking up in meetings and putting yourself forward for awards to creating valuable content and using platforms like LinkedIn strategically, these actions can help junior lawyers raise their profile in a meaningful and authentic way. 💡 “Being authentically you will make you more comfortable and will make it easier for your employer to see where you fit best – with colleagues and clients.” Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/enZC9_42 #LegalMarketing #PersonalBranding #LegalPR

What we learned at the Food & Drink Expo 2025 👇 Our food & drink team recently returned from the NEC Birmingham with fresh insight into the trends, innovations and challenges defining the sector right now. This year’s expo made one thing clear: food and drink brands are entering a new era - where functionality meets flavour, data drives decisions, and sustainability is about progress, not perfection. Consumers are demanding more - from mood-boosting benefits to premium experiences that feel worth the spend. And in an environment shaped by rising costs and global uncertainty, it’s those brands with clear purpose, agility and smart storytelling that will stay ahead. The expo reinforced the importance of insight-led campaigns and meaningful brand narratives that cut through. If you're a food or drink brand looking to evolve, grow or stand out - we’d love to talk. Ask the expert: Why communicating corporate transactions matters Mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions don’t just impact balance sheets - they impact people. Employees worry about job security, customers fear service disruptions, and investors watch for signals of stability. Yet, in the complexity of legal and financial negotiations, communications is often overlooked. Here’s why that’s a mistake 👇 • Employees need clarity, not uncertainty. Without a clear internal comms strategy, teams are left to speculate. Regular updates, leadership visibility, and a strong narrative on ‘why this deal matters’ keep engagement high and prevent talent loss. • Customers and suppliers need reassurance. Lack of proactive messaging can lead to lost confidence. Clear, transparent communication about continuity, service levels, and key contacts ensures stability in relationships. • The media will tell the story - make sure it’s the right one. Journalists will cover the deal. The question is, will your messaging shape the headlines? A specialist M&A comms approach ensures alignment with legal and regulatory requirements while controlling the narrative. At RMS, we work alongside internal teams to craft M&A communications strategies that protect reputations, maintain stakeholder confidence, and ensure a seamless transition. If your business is navigating a corporate transaction, let’s talk. Read more here -> https://lnkd.in/eZUbvzhB #CorporateComms #MergersAndAcquisitions #InternalComms #StrategicPR

'Me vs We; Can personal and corporate profile live in harmony?' Thank you to Ruth Shearn from RMS and pro-manchester for inviting me to be part of a great panel of people with a diversity of experience, to discuss the topic of personal brands and where they sit in the corporate world. 🧑⚖️ Nick Freeman, AKA Mr Loophole, didn't welcome the nickname bestowed on him by the press, but grew to love it and soon realised its value. Chatham House rules applied so we heard some great stories! 🧮 Stuart Hurst, a legend in accounting (who would have thought that was a thing?). A passionate human being who wants to change the world of accounting one jargon free LinkedIn post at a time. "If you raise the tide all the boats will rise". ✍ And Michael Taylor of The Business desk, who preached the power of authenticity; in a world of people trying to be someone else, be yourself. Michael you did me a solid with a great plug for Muse and our very authentic and very Oldham MD Phil Mayall! What an opportunity to get a first look at Treehouse Manchester, a gorgeous new hotel, I'll be back I hope. #corporatebranding, #personalbranding

Our fantastic panellists delivered an engaging and inspiring discussion, sharing great insights and key takeaways - giving each of us something valuable to reflect on, whether in our careers, personal growth, or everyday life. A special thank you to Nick Freeman, Orla McGrath, Stuart Hurst, and Michael Taylor for being our fantastic panellists and for their brilliant contributions. And of course, thank you to pro-manchester and Treehouse Hotels Manchester for helping us make it all happen! Stay tuned - we’ll be sharing videos and more highlights from the event soon. Week 5 of the RMS - PR | Marketing | Design Bake Off, which involves each member of the team taking a turn to bake something. Mike Stafford showed off his design skills this week with an amazing illusion cake. Beneath the decoration lay a traditional Victoria sponge with raspberry jam and buttercream. A true perfectionist, Mike even ruled out using real sprinkles because they would have been out of proportion! Next week, Victoria Richardson dons the apron and oven gloves ... to say she's not very confident would be an understatement but she's been known to pull it out of the bag many a time before! #BakeOff #teambuilding #officeculture

Being shortlisted for an award is always a great achievement and can be a valuable strategic tool. Recently, a number of our clients have had reasons to celebrate. Two Muse schemes (Crescent Salford and Talbot Gateway) were shortlisted in the North West Business Insider Property Awards. Thomas Dutton – Investment Director at private equity firm WestBridge was shortlisted in the Young Private Equity Professional of the Year category in Insider’s Young Professional Awards with WestBridge itself winning the Value Creation Deal of the Year (Upper Mid) at the Actum Group Private Equity Value Creation Awards. 🎉 Beyond industry recognition, awards can help businesses strengthen their reputation, attract recruits and build trust. If you’re thinking about entering an award: • Choose one that aligns with your business goals and industry positioning. • Focus your entry on impact, innovation, and measurable outcomes. • If you’re lucky enough to win, maximise opportunities for PR, stakeholder engagement, and business development. Get in touch if you need support crafting a standout entry. #PRstrategy #BusinessAwards #PRAgencyManchester
