Last Friday Superscript’s netball team — 𝙉𝙚𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙪𝙢𝙨 — took part in Corporate 5s Cup netball tournament hosted at Powerleague’s Shepherd's Bush venue. And what a debut it was — winning six games over eight matches and scoring 41 goals. Only half of our team had ever played netball before, but that didn’t stop them putting in 110% effort to reach the semi-finals 🏀 What a way to showcase Superscript’s values of being 𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 and 𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱! The day wasn’t just a chance to get out the office and take in the spring sun, but a great opportunity to meet the other #fintech companies competing. Thanks to all the other teams — BVNK, Adyen, Mastercard, YouLend, Allica Bank, ClearScore and Volt.io — for bringing such positive sportsmanship (especially Oliver Turner and Phoebe Marshall for joining us in our last game when we we’re down two players!). And we’re the only team across all four divisions still rocking a 100% record since joining the league last season. You could say we’ve got our #fintech footwork down to a fine art ⚽ But let’s not jinx it! Led by our fearless captain Derrick Smart MIRP, Superscript FC is back in action this Thursday with another double header — this time against the champs at ONMO and Cleo. Two big games. Last week, our Head of Data Rama Karmokar attended the Women in Data® 2025 Flagship Event at London’s O2. The event brought together over 3,000 women from all corners of the data world from department heads to delivery managers, engineers to analysts. Rama reflected, “The day was packed with powerful panel sessions on things like overcoming gender bias at work, tackling the gender gap and navigating the challenges (and opportunities!) of being a woman in data and tech. Not to mention some brilliant technical sessions that had me scribbling down notes the whole time! “What really stood out was the energy, the openness and the genuine sense of community. It was incredibly empowering, and honestly, I walked away feeling so inspired.” Data is at the core of our business at Superscript. We were happy to once again grace the halls of Westminster this week — this time as part of the #StopToolTheft campaign alongside On The Tools and our partner Checkatrade. Our handy Partnerships Director, Henry Newby joined Amanda Martin MP and a host of the #construction industry’s best and brightest to discuss the growing issue of #ToolTheft and the ramifications this has on tradespeople up and down the country. In 2023, a tradesperson’s tools were stolen every 12 minutes, leading to an estimated £82 million worth of jobs lost. As a tradesperson, your tools are an extension of you and as a leading digital #insurance broker, we’re dedicated to help support businesses protect their livelihoods. Alongside our partner at Checkatrade, we ran a campaign offering 12 months’ free tools and equipment cover — up to £2,500 of protection.
