Cycle to Perpignan, Last week we completed our team cycle to Perpignan. It was a tough 3 days that brought plenty of joy through out. Our main aim was to try and raise funds for Saints Community Development Foundation Limited and our Inclusion programmes and we raised £2000 in doing so however what I learnt from the cycle was; A charity event such as this, was a great way to bring our team together and integrate within the wider club having great people from different areas of St Helens RFC come together to support the cause. Effective partnership working allowed for the event to have greater impact and made for a better event. Having a range of partners help cycle the distance and also Everlast Milverny lending us the bikes to cycle and Tesco hosting us, again helped us maximise the impact of the cycle. A big thank you to all that supported the event and we are already looking forward to planning our next! Our team will be put through their paces cycling over 600 miles to help raise vital funds to help the running of these programmes. Wheelchair Rugby League is live in St Helens! We are proud to have officially launched our wheelchair activity last night at Sutton Leisure Centre. The session saw a mix of experienced players and players that have never picked up a rugby ball. This has been a long time in the works and one that has caused a number of headaches through challenges faced but we are excited to get this project underway to expand our inclusive offer. If you would like to support us in our venture of Wheelchair Rugby League in St Helens then please get in touch. We want to promote and make this programme as impactful as possible and this can only be done through collaborate working. Saturday saw the return of match day activity. For the fans, it was great to see and show their support for club stalwart Morgan Knowles with the return of rugby league to our town. For the Foundation it is the return of community activity on match days! Our activity include Pre-match activity having our passing wall out for fans to come and test their passing skills and our half time activity of rugby minis! As much as its great to get our men's team back on the field and rugby back in our lives, It is even better for us to get back into community activity and see our future saints players showcase their skills. It was great to welcome you all and talk about our great relationship with Sally Yeoman MBE and Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action Great people doing great things in our special town.

This morning Saints Community along with players from St Helen's Women's team went along to Allanson Street Primary School to help inspire the girls that attend. Jodie Cunningham Phoebe Hook and Beri Salihi lead an assembly about how they got into Rugby League and the journey they have been on with St Helens, talking about the impact of being able to play at Wembley and other doors that playing the sport has opened for them. We broke the session down into smaller groups so pupils got the chance to ask questions, learn and take inspiration from our players and potentially look to get involved in the sport themselves. This is definitely one of my favourite parts of the role being able to connect the badge/club/players with the community and allowing children and young people to aspire to take the same path.
