Earlier in March, we celebrated International Women’s Day by inviting a group of women and girls to the Women’s Barclays Super League clash, where Liverpool took on Manchester United at Anfield⚽ Whilst football is commonly viewed as a unifying force, the sport remains largely inaccessible to many marginalised communities. At the LFC Foundation, we recognise the importance of providing opportunities for all. We continue to create and deliver several initiatives that are dedicated to empowering women and girls from marginalised groups, with the aim of breaking barriers by providing opportunities for females to engage with football, not just as a sport but as a pathway to belonging, confidence, and future opportunities. The evening was truly memorable for all, the smiles on the faces and the win made it even more special❤️

We’re thrilled to have the continued support of Wasabi Technologies for our Red Hot Beats programme into 2025🤝 The Red Hot Beats initiative provides vital mental health support to young people across Liverpool through the power of music. Together with Wasabi, we've been able to reach and support 7,000 young people so far. We look forward to seeing what the next year holds for this partnership and our community❤️

Meet Shawgi💫 Shawgi is a member of our Refugee and Asylum Seeker football programme, and a founding member of our Refugee and Asylum Seeker Advisory Board (RASAB). Funds raised from this year's Legends Charity Match will go towards our health programmes, keeping people across Liverpool City Region healthy and active, and ensuring more people like Shawgi have access to free football sessions in the community!
