Today, staff, volunteers and students from across The Clink Charity and The Clink Events took over the kitchen at Refettorio Felix in Earl's Court to feed 150 of their customers. In their own words: "Refettorio Felix is a drop-in centre and community kitchen serving vulnerable people in Earl’s Court and beyond. We have an open-door policy, welcoming without judgement anyone struggling with a wide variety of issues, such as homelessness, loneliness, substance abuse and mental health difficulties." These special collaborations connect communities, overcome stereotypes and provide essential services to those in need. A rising tide lifts all boats.

  • We’re really proud to be involved in this important project with UCL exploring Universal Basic Services (UBS) - especially the role of food and community in shaping more just, inclusive public services. If you work in shelter, care, food, transport, digital access, education or legal support, or you’re in local government, research, policy or community engagement - we’d love for you to join us at the upcoming Flourish Forums in London. It’s a chance to connect across sectors, share experiences, and imagine bold new ways of working together. We’ll be diving into what it looks like to deliver services in a more human, holistic and collaborative way — with shared meals, ideas and action. 📣 To our amazing volunteer community and wider network — if this speaks to you, or you know someone doing brilliant work in these spaces, pass it on or come along! It'll be free to attend, and lunch is provided. 🔗 Learn more and register here: https://lnkd.in/e-v2Bu5k 📍 Refettorio Felix at St Cuthbert's Centre, 7–8 May

One of the highlights of #FoodWasteActionWeek 2025. Last week, the Love Food Hate Waste team joined ambassador and low-waste-chef Max La Manna and volunteered for a day in the kitchen at Refettorio Felix. Refettorio Felix is a drop-in centre and community kitchen serving vulnerable people in the Earl’s Court area. Its open-door policy welcomes anyone struggling with homelessness, loneliness, substance abuse and mental health difficulties. Guests enjoy a three-course lunch made from redistributed ingredients supplied by The Felix Project, and prepared by volunteers. The team was also joined by Circular Economy Minister Mary Creagh for a discussion on food waste in the UK. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3RtWcah Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

This #FoodWasteWeek, we'd love to share the incredible work of our strategic partners, Only A Pavement Away, and how they have educated and inspired us to get involved: 🙏In 2018, Only A Pavement Away launched its #FillaFlask campaign, providing coffee and water to those in need. We added a nutritious twist by using our surplus soup stock to help the community and avoid waste. So far, we've delivered over 2,000 portions of soup to UK charities, including Brighton Food Bank, Edinburgh City Mission, and Birmingham City Mission Care Centre. Thank you to Tracey Bell and the Food Team, Jessica Nicklin MSc, BA(Hons), and Jon Dale Dip CIPR, MCIPR. 🙏Led by the inspiring Only A Pavement Away, we donated 2,100 portions of Vietnamese Curry. Brakes UK matched the portions with rice. We also donated 612 portions of Christmas puddings, which Brakes delivered free. 🙏Our volunteers, cajoled by Jon Dale Dip CIPR, MCIPR and Jessica Nicklin MSc, BA(Hons), jumped in to help at food banks in BIRMINGHAM CITY MISSION, Caritas in Manchester, and Refettorio Felix at St Cuthbert's Centre. 🙏Jayne Kite, a tireless volunteer, made sure the leftover food from our half-year conference didn't go to waste by taking it to Burton soup kitchen. 🙏We would also like to thank Jess Ford for sharing best practices and making new waste management laws easy to understand. Together, we're making a real difference in the community and reducing food waste. 🌱✨ A special thank you also goes to: Greg Mangham, Natasha Milinkovic, Andrew Cannons MIWFM, FBII, david crabtree, Samantha Andrewartha, Hayley Patterson, Jayne Kite, Michaela Pittam, Chloe Knopik, Charmian Ransby, Abi Cooper, Ian Morley and Clare Thurley.

  • Smashing success at our surplus supper club. Looking forward to the next one!

I say "supper club", you say... If I asked you to describe a supper club, I suspect you would begin detailing an intimate setting, a dimly lit room full of engaged people, beautifully laid tables and a rockstar chef. Hosting a supper club has almost become a rite of passage for aspiring challenger brands - a way to show that you've arrived, that you get "it". I've long been drawn in by the bright lights of the supper club, but could never quite reconcile the costs involved or how inward-looking they can sometimes seem. After many a fruitless conversation, meeting the team at Refettorio Felix was a breath of fresh air. They got it instantly. More than that, they were enormously enthused by the idea of collaborating to further awareness of the incredible work they do, all the while doing what they do best - bringing people together for a good meal and a nice chat. Deciding to organise a 50 person event with three weeks notice whilst closing a fundraise, beginning a hiring process and fending off whatever lurgy had come home from nursery that week was one of the most intense experiences I've had whilst running Wednesday's Domaine. It was brutal. Yet seeing people arrive - mostly faces I didn't recognise - introduce themselves to one another and break bread together was utterly and incontrovertibly joyous. More on this to follow and more of these to come. Stay tuned...

  • We are thrilled to announce that we are proud recipient of a grant from the Julia Rausing Trust as part of their seasonal giving campaign this winter.   Their generous grant will directly assist our work dedicated to supporting individuals facing challenges such as financial difficulties, homelessness, mental and physical health issues, and social isolation. At Refettorio Felix, each day, surplus ingredients are transformed into free, restaurant-quality meals, served in a warm, dignified setting that fosters connection and community. Beyond nourishing food we offer wraparound care including practical assistance and mental health support. We are incredibly grateful to the Julia Rausing Trust for their support - particularly during these colder months when need is most acute. Together, we can continue to create a welcoming space, provide vital resources, and empower those in need. Thank you!

Our wonderful restaurant team 6 Hamilton Place, have been regular guest chefs and volunteers at the incredible charity Refettorio Felix over the past few years. Last Friday we had the privilege of volunteering to do this again, cooking a hot four-course meal for over 150 people, on a particularly cold day! Refettorio Felix is a drop-in centre and community kitchen that has been serving vulnerable people in London’s Earl’s Court since 2017. It has an open door policy and welcomes in people who might be struggling with loneliness, homelessness or mental health difficulties. Each week some 1,350 guests use the centre, 2,476 meals are served, 1601 kg of food is recovered, and 145 people volunteer. It is too simplistic to suggest that a meal and the social interaction that comes with that can solve all problems. But Refettorio Felix is proof that these things are hugely important to overall wellbeing. Guests come for lunch and then stay for the warmth and companionship that the centre offers. https://lnkd.in/enPa5bPb A special thank you to christophe Thuilot and Paul Muddiman for leading our support, and always cooking up a great menu with their team!

Here are some highlights from our recent kitchen takeover at Refettorio Felix! Our talented chefs had a fantastic time preparing and serving hearty winter dishes to those in need, including leek and potato soup with Welsh rarebit, butter bean stew, and sticky toffee pudding. A big thank you to Refettorio Felix for having us, and to DDP, Vegetarian Express, and Belazu | B Corp™ for their generous ingredient donations.

  • The most amazing donations are hand grown! Thank you One Bartholomew, Lexington Reception Services (LRS) and Ashdown Phillips.

We were thrilled to support our friends at Refettorio Felix alongside our client at One Bartholomew, with a donation of fresh, hand-grown herbs and produce from their rooftop garden. The chefs at Refettorio Felix were very pleased with this beautiful array of produce. We're so proud to contribute to the amazing work they do running a community kitchen for vulnerable people in Earl’s Court and beyond and look forward to supporting them in the future. A big thank you to Ashdown Phillips and One Bartholomew for your generosity!
