Case study: REDS was commissioned to redevelop an MTFI at a MOD site in the South West. During redevelopment, an unrecorded underground tank installation with hydrocarbon contamination was discovered. Our Environmental Consultancy team designed a remedial strategy to manage the risks and support the site’s redevelopment, delivering: ✅ Safe removal of contaminated soils and free-phase hydrocarbons ✅ Targeted in-situ treatment using In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) and Oxygen Releasing Substrate (ORS) ✅ Over 95% reduction in residual hydrocarbon concentrations ✅ Full discharge of remaining planning conditions By containing the hydrocarbon plume and promoting natural attenuation, we significantly reduced the long-term environmental risk to groundwater and surrounding receptors. What a stag-gering view! After responding to an emergency spill call out in central Scotland, our environmental team identified the need for targeted remedial works to prevent the spill from migrating off-site. The journey to site took them through some stunning scenery, making the trip even more worthwhile. Look closely and you might just spot Red Deer grazing in the background! Our procurement officer took part in a white collar charity boxing event this Saturday, and several of us from REDS came along to support. It was a fantastic work night out as we celebrated Jack Nelson’s achievement as Top Fundraiser, raising over £1,300 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The match was a thrilling watch, Jack “The Admiral” Nelson put up a strong fight against his opponent, Dayle “Powerhouse” Browse, who secured the win on points. All in all, it was a great event for an even greater cause! We caught up with Jack after the fight, and he had this to say: "I just wanted to say a massive thank you to my family, friends and the team at REDS for getting me through this epic journey. The support has been humbling and I couldn’t have done it without all of you. It was one of the most physical, emotional and mental challenges I’ve gone through. But it was a fantastic experience that taught me a lot about myself, as well as making some great new friends.   Although I didn’t win the fight, I made it through all three rounds, making it difficult for my worthy opponent.   However, most importantly, and ultimately why I was doing it, I managed to raise over £1300 for the amazing charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.  Thanks to the generosity of everyone, I secured the title of Top Fundraiser, which is better than any other result of the night.
