At REDS we’re consciously aware of the environmental responsibility that comes with the work we do. As an environmental risk management company, we know our actions have an impact, which is why we’re committed to operating sustainably and staying aligned with evolving policies and ISO standards. While there’s always more to do, here are some of the ways we’re making progress: ✅ Reducing Emissions We track our CO₂ emissions via fuel card data and vehicle trackers and prioritise newer fleet vehicles with the latest Euro engines for better fuel efficiency. Where possible, we also encourage vehicle sharing. ✅ Conserving Water Through staff engagement, energy-efficient appliances and simple prompts in our office spaces, we’re building a culture of water awareness. Our ISO 14001 accreditation supports these efforts. ✅ Minimising Waste We work with waste partners who aim for zero to landfill and maintain a dedicated register to reduce waste and encourage recycling across all sites and offices. ✅ Embedding Sustainability From in-situ remediation methods and waste segregation, to using local suppliers and introducing a new vegetable and herb garden at our Amersham office, we’re taking meaningful steps every day. This month, instead of our usual donation to a charity nominated by one of our team, we used the funds to buy toys and games for the Children’s Unit at Torbay Hospital. Chris Honour’s MCC, the Doom Riders, are running an amazing Easter initiative, donating eggs, toys and games to bring joy to the children's ward on Easter Sunday. We thought it was a wonderful idea and we're proud to provide support wherever we can. #CommunitySupport #TorbayHospital

We’re pleased to welcome Greg Freeth to the team as our new Mechanical Engineer. Greg started his career as an apprentice with Babcock before moving into teaching engineering and taking on a facilities and maintenance manager role. What does Greg do at REDS? A bit of everything! From pipe fitting and PPMS to refurbishing tanks and carrying out remedials, he’s a true all-rounder and a great addition to the team. Outside of work, Greg enjoys playing golf, reading military history and fiction books, and spending quality time with his three children. Welcome to REDS, Greg. This morning, we’re pleased to attend the MOD SME Hub Foundation workshop, a fantastic opportunity to strengthen relationships, make new connections and continue building our long-standing relationship with the MOD. Case study: REDS was commissioned to redevelop an MTFI at a MOD site in the South West. During redevelopment, an unrecorded underground tank installation with hydrocarbon contamination was discovered. Our Environmental Consultancy team designed a remedial strategy to manage the risks and support the site’s redevelopment, delivering: ✅ Safe removal of contaminated soils and free-phase hydrocarbons ✅ Targeted in-situ treatment using In-Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) and Oxygen Releasing Substrate (ORS) ✅ Over 95% reduction in residual hydrocarbon concentrations ✅ Full discharge of remaining planning conditions By containing the hydrocarbon plume and promoting natural attenuation, we significantly reduced the long-term environmental risk to groundwater and surrounding receptors. What a stag-gering view! After responding to an emergency spill call out in central Scotland, our environmental team identified the need for targeted remedial works to prevent the spill from migrating off-site. The journey to site took them through some stunning scenery, making the trip even more worthwhile. Look closely and you might just spot Red Deer grazing in the background!
