🌊 Welcome to Norway, NB 973! On January 12, NB 973, an advanced Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) built for Purus, arrived at Vard Brattvaag from Vard Shipyards Romania – Tulcea. This 87.7-meter vessel of VARD 4 19 design, is purpose-built for the wind farm industry and exemplifies cutting-edge maritime innovation. With a state-of-the-art hull form designed for all weather conditions and an optimized propulsion system, NB 973 is engineered for: 👉 Reduced fuel consumption 👉 Outstanding seakeeping capabilities 👉 Top-tier station-keeping performance NB 973 will remain at Vard Brattvaag until the end of the month before continuing its journey to Vard Søviknes for further outfitting. The vessel is on track for delivery in Q2 2025. Stepping stones to sustainability. Based on the proven FCS 2710 design, the FCS 2710 Hybrid takes a step closer to sustainable sailing with the ability to operate fully electrically in port or while loitering offshore. At low speeds, the vessel is propelled by its electric motors, fed by a battery pack, enabling zero emissions operations. Even when operating at high speeds on its conventional propulsion system, the vessel offers increased efficiency, with the hotel load powered by the electric motors in reversed generator mode, avoiding running a separate generator set. #Damen #sustainability #innovation #shipbuilding
