We are thrilled to introduce you to our first new hire Eduardo Camarillo Abad, PhD as our lead optical engineer! With a world class background in optical physics and modelling, he’s an excellent addition to our founding team. He’s been with us for nearly 3 months and has already had significant, valuable impact. Looking forward to even more progress over the next few months.
Prospectral
Semiconductor Manufacturing
Ultra compact, materials-aware imaging sensors for next generation computer vision.
About us
From industrial monitoring, to autonomous vehicles, to medical diagnostics, computer vision is already revolutionising a range of industries. Materials-aware vision, however, requires data that conventional (RGB) cameras cannot provide - spectral data - but the expense, size and fragility of current spectral camera systems is prohibitive for many spaces. Founded by four University of Cambridge researchers in optical physics and semiconductor engineering, Prospectral has designed a new approach to spectral imaging and is building a technology to empower companies with dramatically lower-cost, more compact, and less complex cameras for gathering the data required to detect and analyse materials.

This was a great opportunity to explore collaborations with the Institute of Microelectronics. We really look forward to continuing these conversations. Special thanks to Hannah Dayah for organising our trip!
Inaugural UK-SG Semiconductor Workshop - A Milestone for Bilateral Collaboration! The Institute of Microelectronics have co-organized, alongside SERC, A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research and the British High Commission, the first-ever UK-Singapore semiconductor-themed workshop. This workshop brought together 70 participants from both nations, bridging academia, industry, and government agencies to forge new collaborations. UK attendees included delegates from the British Embassy (Colin Armstrong MBE, Hannah Dayah, Hanbin Zheng, PhD), British Council (Lissy Vadakel, Leighton Ernsberger), as well as UK Professors (Prof Graham Reed, Prof Vishal Shah, and Matt Maynard), UK Institutes (Christine Dent and Amar Abid-Ali) and UK startups (Dr Andrew Robertson from Bay Photonics, and Dr Gwenhivir Wyatt-Moon from Prospectral) and key experts from Singapore IHLs (Prof Dawn Tan, Prof Tjin Swee Chuan, Prof Chuan Seng Tan, Prof XIAO GONG and Dr Chun Fei Siah) and companies (Dr Xiaojun Yuan from Linkstar and Ramana V Pamidighantam from LightSpeed Photonics). We discussed bilateral collaborations on talent exchanges, joint PhD programs, and leveraging IME's advanced packaging and photonics capabilities to grow both the Singapore and UK ecosystem. With a strong focus on research and talent development, we aim to solidify partnerships and make strides in next-gen semiconductor technology. We're excited to continue building these international connections and look forward to future collaborations with the UK semiconductor community. #Semiconductors #Photonics #PowerElectronics #Packaging #UKSingaporeCollaboration #Innovation #ResearchAndDevelopment #TalentDevelopment #AdvancedPackaging #SiC Karen Chong Leh Woon Lim Terence Gan Navab Singh Surya Bhattacharya Srinivasa Rao Vempati Xianshu LUO (PhD, PMP) Alex Ang
