Massive congrats to Chris Davies, Matt Chlebek and the whole team at Harvest London 👏 for building a huge vertical farm right in the middle of the Corner Corner event space in Canada Water, London. They've been growing basil for Pizza Pilgrims for almost 5 years now, and just massively upped the game. It’s exciting to see new ways of growing produce, closer to where we eat it, with less waste and lower impact. Looking forward to seeing more innovations come through! 🌱🌆

How has B Corp Certification benefitted Pizza Pilgrims? 🍕 Yesterday evening, Thom Elliot, co-founder of Pizza Pilgrims spoke to Sky News about the benefits that B Corp Certification has brought to the popular pizza restaurant. In 2012, Thom and his brother James Elliot launched the business after travelling to Italy to learn about the true art of pizza making. Today, Pizza Pilgrims has over 20 restaurants across the UK and certified as a #BCorp last year. When asked about B Corp Certification, Thom says: “We've always tried to be a business that stood for something more than profit, tried to do good in the world. For us, it's been so, so valuable to have an organisation essentially create a framework for what good looks like…basically, how to be a better business. We’ve found it an incredibly useful way to get everyone in the company aligned with the goals of being a better company. It’s one of our four pillars now within our mission, and it comes through when we talk to our team.” What a great way to wrap up #BCorpMonth and demonstrate how B Corps are the next generation of business leaders. #GenB 🎉

When you’ve worked at Pizza Pilgrims for 5 years we give our teams a 4 week sabbatical fully paid, as a token of our appreciation for their hard work and dedication. Here’s Mark, Simon, and Antimo. Three of our longest serving General Managers about to board their plane where they’ll be spending their sabbatical in South America. Needless to say - they’ll be enjoying every minute. And very well deserved 👌.

Our brand new Comms and Learning app went live today, powered by our friends All Gravy. It’s been such an amazing project. Big shout out to Tali Greenberg Rasmussen, Jonatan Marc Rasmussen, Frederik Gabriel, Hayley Kyle, Sonja Dickers, Shaw Morgan, Leanne Gunson, and the magicians behind the scenes. After a sleepless night, over 50% activation rate in the first hour started the day perfectly. Jessica Rowe is getting ready for an 8,000 mile row across the Pacific Ocean from Peru to Australia. Yes - you read that right... 8,000 miles! We had our General Managers Huddle this week and invited Jess to come and tell us all about it. Needless to say, she left us inspired and a little speechless. The current training programme, logistics, and the hurdles they're preparing for which they think will take 6 months. Her last row was 3,000 miles, racing across the Atlantic. Add another 5,000 miles on to that, It's going to be an amazing achievement.
