It was fantastic to hear the latest updates on Barnsley’s future health and wellbeing hub at Barnsley Council's launch event yesterday. Announced last year, this partnership-led space in the Alhambra Shopping Centre will bring vital services to the heart of the town centre – reducing pressure on NHS services by bringing care closer to where people live, shop and socialise. With an on-site gym run by BPL (Barnsley Premier Leisure) and integrated mental health services, it’s set to become more than just a clinic – a true destination for prevention, support and wellbeing. We’re proud to be providing technical advisory services via SCAPE through Perfect Circle, working alongside Barnsley Council and Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. #HealthOnTheHighStreet #Barnsley #Wellbeing #PublicSector #SCAPE

We’re proud to have supported the delivery of the first permanent NHS Blood and Transplant donor centre in Brixton – a vital facility in the fight against sickle cell disease. Transformed from a disused retail unit, the centre includes nine donor beds, a nursing station, consultation rooms, and staff amenities – designed to boost local engagement and meet the needs of the area’s diverse community. The team collaborated closely with contractor CARMELCREST Construction, providing project management and contract administration services via Perfect Circle and the SCAPE Consultancy Framework. 📍 Brixton, South London 📸 CARMELCREST Construction 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eGgafBcH #Healthcare #NHS #OnePerfectCircle

The UK’s first all-electric prison – HMP Millsike in York – has officially opened, marking a major step forward in the Ministry of Justice UK’s push for sustainable, modern facilities. As lead designer, Pick Everard worked alongside the MoJ and Kier Group to deliver this Category C resettlement prison, focused on rehabilitation and reducing reoffending. HMP Millsike forms part of the New Prisons Programme and will provide training and skills to support employment on release. We’re proud of our two-decade partnership with the MoJ, helping shape key projects including HMP Five Wells, HMP Fosse Way, and HMP Oakwood. Last month, we held the first event of our new Women in Conservation – North of England Network at Fountains Abbey, hosted by Emma Morrish MRICS and Nicola Storey, with kind support by Jennifer Piper MRICS from the National Trust. The day began with a discussion on our hopes for the network and how it might grow, followed by a presentation on the history of the Abbey and current conservation projects. Attendees then enjoyed a guided site tour, including insights from contractors delivering preventative maintenance to the abbey walls. We’ve had fantastic feedback and are already planning our next event for this summer! #WomeninConservation #Heritage #Conservation

Sketching is an essential part of the design process. Architectural Assistant, Callum Pell shares how early sketch work helped explore and evolve initial proposals for a mixed-use masterplan development, with careful consideration of scale, context, and form. Each sketch tells a story of the design journey and has been a valuable tool in realising the potential of this scheme. Sketching remains a vital part of architectural design, enabling our teams to communicate ideas, test options, and bring concepts to life from the earliest stages. #Architecture #DesignProcess #Sketching
