  • 🧠 A planner told us recently: “AI is supposed to make things easier. But somehow, our to-do list has doubled.” That comment has echoed with us ever since. Yes, AI is transforming event delivery — from hyper-personalised agendas to predictive attendee insights. But behind every beautifully curated life sciences congress, internal summit, or hybrid town hall, there’s a team of humans quietly burning out. 📌 Skift’s 2025 Megatrends report makes it clear: AI is helping us do more — but it’s also raising the bar in every direction. More data. More expectations. More complexity. Here’s what we’re seeing on the ground: 🔹 Event teams are shrinking, but demands are growing. 🔹 There’s no such thing as “off” when AI makes everything real-time. 🔹 Mental health is becoming a business-critical topic — not a “nice to have.” At Open Audience, we see this daily. And we believe it's time for a reset. Let’s not just use AI to deliver more. Let’s use it to protect space — for creativity, for focus, for wellbeing. Because the best events don’t come from exhausted teams. They come from people who are empowered, supported, and inspired. The Best Events We’ve Delivered Didn’t Follow the Brief! I’ll let you in on a secret. Most of the best events we’ve delivered didn’t follow what was originally planned. That’s not because our clients got it wrong—it’s because we asked the questions others didn’t. • Is this the right venue? • Do these speakers connect or just present? • Are we engaging people—or just informing them? Trusted advisor isn’t just a title—it’s a role we step into daily. We challenge. We refine. We elevate. From agenda design to AV, from location to learning—we don’t just deliver events. We help our clients deliver the right ones. That’s our superpower. #TrustedAdvisor #EventExcellence #MedicalMeetings #OpenAudience #PharmaEvents #LifeSciencesStrategy Open Audience Leslie Robertson

🎤 From ABBA to ABA: What a Day for the Open Audience Team Today, our team is live in Argentina, Bucharest, and Athens—three very different audiences, three different global clients, one shared focus: delivering high-impact medical events that truly connect. We call it ABA. Not quite a Eurovision comeback from the Swedish megastars, but definitely a show of coordination, care, and commitment. It’s days like these that remind me: • Great events aren’t just planned—they’re felt. • Strategy only works when paired with empathy and agility. • And trusted advisors don’t sit on the sidelines—they’re in the room, behind the scenes, and everywhere the audience needs them to be. From speaker support in Buenos Aires, to AV logistics and engagement support in Athens, to delegate journeys for Medical Education in Bucharest—this is what our version of “superpowered delivery” looks like. Here’s to showing up, wherever we’re needed. Pedro Malha Lisa Rowland Richard Cholot #TrustedAdvisor #GlobalEvents #ABA #EventExcellence #MedicalMeetings #OpenAudience #engagement

What I’m Seeing in Life Science Events Right Now As someone working closely with event leaders across life sciences, I’ve been spotting some powerful shifts in how organisations are approaching engagement. Here’s what I’m seeing more of in real-world conversations: 🔍 1. Events are becoming intentional. We’re moving away from delivering everything to everyone. Clients are designing for purpose, persona, and outcome—and it’s making events more impactful, not just more efficient. 🎯 2. Value is measured in outcomes, not attendance. Data isn’t a post-event afterthought anymore—it’s driving strategy. We’re seeing real attention to behavioural signals, post-event engagement, and continuous learning loops. 🌍 3. On-demand is no longer an afterthought. Smart teams are using platforms like OpenVOD and OpenTube to build always-on experiences—empowering HCPs to engage how and when they want. 🤝 4. Collaboration beats complexity. Whether it's med affairs or commercial, everyone is asking the same question: "How do we make it easier for our audience to engage?" That’s the right question. If you’re designing your next event or omnichannel strategy, ask yourself: Is it flexible, focused, and built around the people who matter most? 🦸♂️ The Real Superpower Behind Brilliant Events? Trusted Advice at Every Step What makes an event really deliver? It’s not just the technology. It’s not just the venue. It’s not just the agenda. It’s the thinking behind every decision—venue selection, speaker sourcing, agenda design, AV coordination, audience engagement. At Open Audience, our strength lies in showing up as trusted advisors—not just for one part of the process, but across the entire delivery journey. From shaping the brief to curating content, from tech setup to post-event feedback—we challenge, collaborate, and guide with purpose. Because success doesn’t come from ticking boxes. It comes from knowing your audience, aligning with your objectives, and delivering with intention. 💬 We don’t just help teams deliver events. We help them deliver the right event. That’s our superpower. 👉 Want to hear how this could work for your next meeting or HCP programme? • Medical Events Are Changing—Here’s What We’re Seeing Up Close From shorter, smarter sessions to a shift away from over-engineered hybrids—our CEO Leslie Robertson shares what clients are really doing (and dropping) in 2025. If you work in medical affairs, events, or HCP engagement, this is a must-read pulse check.👇

💡 What I’m Seeing in the Medical Events Space Right Now Over the past few months, I’ve had countless conversations with clients across Pharma, Biotech, and Med Affairs. From global teams to local markets, the message is clear: the way we collectively engage HCPs in 2025 is changing—again!! Here’s what I’m seeing more of—and less of—as we look ahead: 🔼 More of... Fast, focused webinars. There's growing appetite for short, single-session engagements—designed to deliver value in under an hour. They're agile, easy to scale, and when done well, incredibly effective. Smaller, smarter in-person meetings. Clients are leaning into curated face-to-face experiences—more intimate, more relevant, and often more inclusive. Strategic third-party collaboration. We’re helping clients activate their content through trusted medical platforms and networks, creating new ways to reach and engage target audiences. 🔽 Less of... Large in-person events just because. Unless there’s a clear reason to bring hundreds together, many clients are choosing smaller formats with sharper focus. Over-engineered hybrid setups. We're seeing a shift toward simpler, smarter event design—sometimes hybrid, but not by default. Long-form virtual conferences. Multi-day online events are fatiguing. If the content isn’t modular, interactive, or personalised, HCPs are tuning out. 🧭 The events we’re designing now are omnichannel by nature—but they're successful because they’re built around the audience, not the agenda. Our job at Open Audience is to help clients meet HCPs where they are—on their terms, in their language, and in formats that respect their time and maximise value. 🔄 Does this reflect what you’re seeing and expecting in 2025? • 👩⚕️👨⚕️ As Open Audience, we’ve observed the changing shape of medical events—and it’s been nothing short of transformational. The last few years have reshaped how healthcare professionals learn, connect, and collaborate. From rapid-response virtual setups to strategic hybrid designs, we’ve moved beyond logistics to focus on what truly matters: engagement, accessibility, and outcomes. 🌍 Across the globe, we’ve seen what works—and what doesn’t. ✅ Winners? Events that prioritise interaction, regional relevance, sustainability, and scientific value. ❌ Losers? Those still relying on static webinars, generic delivery, and one-size-fits-all content. 🔎 In response to these evolving needs, we developed three purpose-built platforms—crafted specifically for today’s HCP audiences and the demands of 2025: 🔵 OpenMeet Our fully managed platform for live, virtual and hybrid events—designed to elevate interaction through multilingual polls, moderated Q&A, personalised journeys and full compliance support. 🟣 OpenTube A dynamic, interactive video platform that transforms scientific content into immersive experiences. With gamified learning paths, touch navigation and multi-language overlays, it’s perfect for omnichannel education. 🟠 OpenVOD For time-pressed HCPs, OpenVOD delivers curated, trackable post-event content. It extends learning, enhances reach, and supports long-tail engagement through personalised video hubs and analytics. 📈 As we step into 2025, it’s clear: Events are no longer moments in time—they are strategic experiences that must reflect the complexity and diversity of their audiences. • 📸 What We’ve Learned from the Past That Shapes the Future This image takes us back to a time when learning and collaboration were strictly in-person, with structured environments and limited flexibility. Yet, even in today’s world of AI, hybrid events, and digital transformation, some core lessons remain timeless. Three things we’ve learned from the past that still guide us today: ✅ Engagement is key – A room full of attendees (or students) doesn’t guarantee learning. Active participation, interaction, and dialogue have always mattered—whether in a 19th-century classroom or a virtual event today. ✅ Accessibility drives inclusion – In the past, access to education and meetings was limited by geography, cost, and time. Now, AI and hybrid engagement tools ensure that no one is left behind, whether they’re an HCP learning remotely or a global team collaborating across time zones. ✅ Technology should empower, not replace – The blackboard gave way to projectors, then to digital screens, and now to AI-powered virtual environments. But at its core, technology should enhance human connection, not replace it. AI-driven engagement isn’t about automation—it’s about making education, meetings, and healthcare more personalised and impactful. As we embrace AI-enabled engagement, we must remember that technology evolves, but the need for connection, understanding, and participation remains the same. 💡 Interested in hearing more? 🚀 Webinars, Hybrid Events, and VOD: Shaping the Future of Digital HCP Engagement in EMEA 🚀 The latest ON24 2025 EMEA Digital Engagement Benchmarks Report dropped into my inbox earlier today and confirms what many of us have observed – webinars, hybrid events, and video-on-demand (VOD) are driving engagement like never before. This is further supported by findings from other industry reports. Is this mirrored in Life Sciences and HCP Engagement? 📈 Key takeaways: ✅ Webinars remain essential, with EMEA engagement up 11% year-over-year (YoY) (vs. 3% globally). This aligns with data from Demand Sage (acquired by Snap, Inc.), which reports that 73% of B2B webinar attendees become leads, highlighting the effectiveness of webinars in lead generation. ✅ On-demand viewing is growing, with 51% of EMEA attendees preferring to watch webinars later – flexibility is key. Similarly, Livestorm in a report on Webinar Metrics notes that the average attendance rate on the day for webinars is around 46%, indicating a strong preference for flexible viewing options. ✅ Hybrid events & breakout sessions are booming – up 91% and 6X YoY, showing that audiences want immersive, interactive experiences. Supporting this trend, SpotMe highlights that hybrid events offer higher engagement and longer-lasting impact, with 73.6% of event planners becoming more proficient in technology to facilitate such events. ✅ Personalisation & AI-driven content drive results, with 4X higher demo requests and 7X growth in AI-powered webinar content consumption. Growth Marketing Pro emphasizes that webinars convert between 5% and 20% of viewers to buyers, underscoring the importance of personalised and engaging content. These trends confirm what we’re seeing across our own projects – the shift towards interactive, flexible, and AI-enhanced engagement is here to stay. For anyone working in Life Science digital events, marketing, or HCP engagement, track down the report and have a read? Assess the relevance for your events? • Smarter Meetings Don’t Always Need Big Budgets 💡 Whether it’s a small workshop or a large conference, engagement is key. But when working with tight budgets, can small meetings still make a big impact? Absolutely. Here are four ways to elevate your smaller meetings: Engagement through Structure and Interactivity 🗣️ – A well-structured agenda with group discussions and interactive Q&A can spark real engagement, even without advanced tech. Visual Storytelling with Low-Cost Tools 🎨 – Tools like Canva or PowerPoint can create visually stunning slides that keep attendees engaged without costly software. Simple Tech for Smooth Operations 📱 – Basic tools like live polling, event apps, or video conferencing can enhance interactivity without breaking the bank. Expert Facilitation for Impactful Delivery 🎤 – A professional facilitator can guide discussions, energise participants, and ensure your meeting is dynamic and productive. The takeaway: Smart meeting design doesn’t need a big budget. With the right structure, simple tools, and expert input, you can achieve just as much engagement in small meetings as in larger ones. So, next time you’re planning a tight-budget meeting, remember: Big meeting engagement can apply to small meetings too. If you need help delivering a professional, impactful meeting within your budget, reach out! We would love to help elevate your next event.
