  • Yesterday, we wrapped up our second two-day Innovation Workshop with Waterstons 🚀 Staff from across supported housing, digital & data, asset management, general needs housing, communications, surveying, and community engagement brought along their creativity and unique perspectives on the customer experience, leading to some very exciting ideas. In our first session, the sky was the limit - literally! We discussed drones for asset monitoring, AI-driven analysis of repairs, robotics for wellbeing, community mapping, green uses of unused garages, and smarter ways to tag and share asset information. In the second session, after reflecting on our ideas, Alex Waterston and Andrew Blance lined up speakers from Nationwide Drones & AIM and CENSIS, shared insights into initiatives already making an impact in the sector, and challenged us to refine and pitch three key ideas. These workshops aren’t just about ideas - they lead to tangible projects. Previous sessions resulted in the introduction of Amazon Key in buildings with communal entrances, trialling robotics in housing with The National Robotarium, and boiler failure predictions with NICD. A key takeaway this year was the balance between working within limitations and knowing when to break the rules. Alex and Andrew encouraged us to use constraints as a spark for creativity while also pushing boundaries to bring fresh ideas to life - and we had plenty of fun along the way. So, what’s next? On Monday, we kick off a data bootcamp with National Innovation Centre for Data, where Newcastle University students and data scientists will analyse tenant feedback data to uncover patterns that shape what we do. We're also continuing conversations on drones, smarter asset management and the potential for an interactive community map for tenants and staff. Watch this space! Thank you to Alex Waterston and Andrew Blance for the brilliant sessions! 👏 #Innovation #UKHousing
