"Creativity is a human need. It’s essential." - Jordan Stephens Following a decade of austerity, the grassroots youth music sector is facing a financial crisis. 41% of the vital projects we support have told us that they’re at risk of closure. Without action, the future of young people’s lives in music will be even more bleak. We have launched our urgent £1 million #RescueTheRoots fundraising campaign to address the funding crisis threatening grassroots youth music projects across the country. We will match every pound raised up to £1 million to create a total of £2 million to quickly distribute to youth organisations and emerging young creatives who are in urgent need of support. Donate now to safeguard the future of UK music: https://lnkd.in/erTZKiTc
About us
Creating a world where every young person can make, learn and earn in music, whatever their background or goal. We believe that every young person should have the chance to change their life through music. Yet our research shows that many can’t because of who they are, where they’re from or what they’re going through. Our insights, influence and investment in grassroots organisations and to young people themselves means that more 0–25-year-olds from can make, learn and earn in music. Youth Music is a national charity funded thanks to the National Lottery via Arts Council England, players of People's Postcode Lottery and support from partners, fundraisers and donors.

54% of our funded partners have a waiting list of young people that want to take part but can’t due to lack of funds. Currently, we can only support less than 1 in 5 of the applications we receive, leaving over 260,000 young people without access to music-making, creative development and potential pathways into the music industries. Help us take action. Donate now to #RescueTheRoots and save grassroots youth music projects: https://lnkd.in/eum74_ha
