Since launching in 2008, co-founder and CEO Monica Vinader has built an internationally recognized brand that brings more accessibility to high-quality materials, contemporary design and sustainable craftsmanship. Monica and I talked about her inspiring entrepreneurial journey, her brand’s values, and the future of the rapidly expanding jewelry business. After that, I talked to Denise Johnson, divisional merchandise manager for main floor accessories at Nordstrom, to learn more about the value of Monica’s brand in our stores and our mutually beneficial partnership. What goes into making your whole self? Whether it's the background you come from, the roles you hold in life, the communities you're part of or the hobbies you participate in, we all have a unique make up. We'd probably also all be surprised to find out what parts of our identity we have in common with people around us. In celebration of My Whole Self Day (and led by our Mental Health First Aid group, We Care) members of Team MV shared a bit about what makes them who they are. When people feel psychologically safe, teams perform better, unlocking innovation and excellence. At its core, psychological safety is about trust and respect. It means colleagues listen without judgment. Leaders model vulnerability. Policies demonstrate fairness and dignity for all. Teams thrive when all voices are encouraged to speak up with ideas, questions, or concerns without fear of embarrassment or retaliation. Our aim at Monica Vinader is to provide workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, and to feel safe being their whole authentic self.

This Women's History Month, we're proud to mark a decade of partnership with Women for Women International with the launch of our Sisterhood Pendant. Since 1993, Women for Women International has provided women survivors of war and conflict with resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency. Over the course of our partnership, we’ve donated over £200,000 to help 420 women rebuild their lives. On Employee Appreciation Day, we are taking a moment to reflect on another whole year of recognising and celebrating all the members of Team MV. For us, this has never been limited to just one day of the year. We’ve crunched the numbers and can share that in the last 12 months… 2,944 instances of recognition from colleague to colleague went through our Perkbox Celebration feed. For the second year running, this engagement has gained us a proud place in their Top 100 Appreciators 🏆 365 nominations for our annual Team MV awards were submitted - with our most nominated category being our ‘Talisman Heart’ award aligned to our Caring value 💞 Almost 70% of respondents in our February Pulse Check survey either agreed or strongly agreed with the statement ‘I feel I receive recognition for the work that I do’ 🤩 It’s human nature to want to be seen, heard and valued for our contributions. A true culture of recognition takes input and conscious effort from everyone involved, and we are so proud to see Team MV's thrive for yet another year. Long may it continue!
