Thank you to the wonderful team at Middlesbrough FC for inviting our boy to be part of their Deep In My Heart ❤️ Season Ticket campaign. Anyone who knows Mark Desmond Thompson or I personally will know about Reuben's ongoing battle with apraxia of speech - something that awareness has been raised of thanks to Chris Kamara being so open about his own journey. Football in general has been so instrumental to Reuben finding confidence in his words, that for him to be part of this means so much to his Dad and I. The team at Middlesbrough, especially Daniel Prince and Yvonne, went out of their way to include Reuben, when I'm sure there were many other children who would have been easier to involve. A special mention also to Tommy Conway and Hayden Hackney who spent much more time with the kids than they were asked to and were so incredibly kind. They say don't meet your heroes, but these two are brilliant role models for the club. The release was excellent timing for my little family, as Mark has relocated temporarily 3500 miles away to work for Gulf News.
