Twenty years ago almost to the day, we sat late into the night stuffing DVD showreels (remember them?) into envelopes, getting ready to send them out and launch Knucklehead. We had a website, 8 directors and a 4th floor office in Soho. We were excited, a bit nervous, and very up for the challenge. Then you're off to the races. Jesus. It goes fast. Good years, hard years, great work, tricky jobs, brilliant people, tricky people, fun times, hard times. But always always better than having a real job. Twenty years on nothing really changes. Everyday is both a struggle and a privilege rolled into one. People say the industry has changed. Yes it has and no it hasn't. The good bits are still brilliant. The main thing is, we're still doing it, and we still love it. The biggest thank you to everyone who's come on the journey with us - everyone who's ever been a Knucklehead, everyone who's ever been kind enough to give us a job or send us a script and everyone who's turned up to help make what we're doing happen. Nothing would have happened without all of you, and for that we really are grateful. Here's to the next 20..

It’s been a while, but we couldn’t be happier to welcome Frankie & Johnny back to Knucklehead.  Last time round they were one; now they are two, married, and raring to go. The work is beautiful, the people are great. Let’s go.

Welcome director Amrou Al-Kadhi to the Knucklehead roster! 🦄 Amrou is a true polymath - writer, actor, drag performer, and director - most recently of their debut feature Layla, currently screening at LFF and on general release with Curzon Films from the 22nd Nov. Amrou is long-listed for Best Debut Director at the BIFAs for this incredible film, which also opened Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
