We’re proud to have played a part in the 2024 Global Risk and Resilience Fellowship with Erin Owain at Howden serving the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. This report highlights a fantastic collaboration that brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including Resilient Cities Network, United Utilities, Rebalance Earth, Sustainable Markets Initiative and Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. It is great to see our high-resolution climate change flood data is helping provide insights into changing flood risk on water services across Greater Manchester, and helping shape local and national level resilience strategies to prepare, invest and adapt cities to future climate challenges 🌧️ 🔗 Link to the report shown below. #FloodRisk #RiskManagement #ClimateChange #RiskModeling
When it comes to risk, if it's everybody's responsibility, it's nobody's responsibility. Cities draw strength from interconnected systems. Yet, one single point of failure can become a major vulnerability. Effective coordination can turn this vulnerability into a strength. When cities, businesses, and infrastructure providers work together to address risks, we build stronger, more adaptable cities. Building future-proof, resilient cities calls for strong governance and a whole-of-society approach. 📚 Our latest publication, 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, shares insights on how the Global Risk and Resilience Fellowship brought together Greater Manchester Combined Authority, United Utilities, Resilient Cities Network, and Howden to assess flood risk across critical assets and identify cost-effective ways to respond.
