The Institute of Concrete Technology is about bringing people together who are interested in concrete and wish to progress their career in technical field of concrete technology.
The Institute's mission is to promote concrete technology as a recognized engineering discipline and to advance the professional status of practicing concrete technologists worldwide.
The ICT is the concrete sector’s professional development body and is a network of concrete technologists dispersed throughout the world, represented in many diverse countries. It is an awarding body for qualifications in concrete technology and a facilitator of CPD and networking opportunities.
Membership of The ICT, is open to a wide range of people who have an interest in furthering their career in concrete. From students to those that have worked in the industry for many years with classes of membership is linked to levels of qualification or experience.
Four stages of qualifications set the course for career development, from Stage 1 suitable for students, lab technicians and commercial representatives to Stage 4 suitable for Technical Managers, University Lecturers/Researchers and Consultants. Stages 2 & 3 offer a pathway to progress your knowledge and experience through qualifications from Stage 1 to 4.
Those achieving MICT (Stage 4) may apply to the awarding body ,the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE), to be assessed for inclusion in the register for engineers and engineering technicians held by EngC. Registration allows members to use the appropriate designation, depending on grade, from Chartered Engineer to Incorporated Engineer and Engineering Technician.
