🗣️ “When you’re building a business in this century it has to be sustainable by default,” says Murvah Iqbal 📦 , who founded her parcel-delivery company, HIVED, in 2021. It now has a fleet of about 250 electric vehicles that deliver around London, with Asos, Zara and Nespresso among the retailers using it. Iqbal’s entrepreneurial and competitive spirit stems from her childhood. She worked on the branding side of her uncle’s diner chain, Archie’s, as a teenager and played football for Manchester City Women’s youth teams. But it was a trip to San Francisco, where she visited Google and Tesla, that opened her eyes to big business: “I learnt how you could build culturally defining companies and no one really cares about your age and your experience.” Her advice? “Starting is the hardest part, so just start and start small. I began by delivering two parcels a day on my bike.” Murvah features on The Sunday Times’s annual Young Power List, celebrating the 30 most powerful people under 30 in the UK. Mathias Krieger and I started HIVED delivering parcels on our bikes… now fast forward to today and I’m thrilled (and stunned!) to be on The Times Young Power list. Building HIVED to where it is today, delivering for some of the leading retail brands has been a crazy journey. Momentum in 2025 has only been increasing without a second to pause, but moments like this are always a reminder of how far we’ve come with HIVED, and makes me all the more excited for the journey ahead. It’s a small gesture, but one rooted in appreciation for the commitment and the everyday effort our drivers put in to make HIVED deliveries unparalleled. A massive shoutout to the brilliant team who made this happen. Your time, care, and energy brought this idea to life – and I’m genuinely proud to be working alongside such kind, thoughtful, and driven people. 💛
