Our Newcastle Highways Electrical team recently completed a lighting upgrade project on behalf of Newcastle City Council and we have to say, the results are dazzling! ✨   The lighting on the iconic Newcastle Quayside had been in place for some time and needed to be upgraded to something more modern in appearance and functionality.   Our team, led by Project Manager Daniel Hutchinson, worked to identify the ideal LED lamps to replace the current lighting and settled on the Signify 19W ClassicStreet. A reliable and visually appealing solution, the ClassicStreet utilises the latest technology without distracting from the stunning lighting of the Millennium Bridge and surrounding architecture.    Project Manager Ken Waugh and Operative Krysztof Makiewicz worked with Dan to plan and execute the project. The team encountered a major cable fault while carrying out the upgrade works, however, they were quick to ensure that the issue was resolved as swiftly as possible carrying out work in the early hours to avoid disrupting the heavy footfall of the quayside.    Operations Manager Sean Middleton CMgr MCMI commented on the project, saying:    "The customer is thrilled with the project's outcome, and now has a lighting solution in place that catches the eye without overshadowing the surrounding area.    "Upon conclusion of the project, Newcastle City Council commented that in addition to the cost and energy-saving benefits, visibility in the area is the best it has ever been!"
