🌳 Forests: Nature’s Unsung Heroes #Forests are essential for life. They regulate the #climate, clean our air, and filter the water we drink. They also provide habitats for more than two-thirds of terrestrial wildlife and plants - forests contain 60,000 different tree species, 80 percent of amphibian species, 75 percent of bird species, and 68 percent of the world's mammal species[1]. But forests offer more than #biodiversity protection. As one of our most valuable renewable resources, they provide sustainable materials that can reduce the #carbonfootprint of buildings when integrated with innovative #forestrypractices. By storing carbon and replacing emissions-intensive materials, sustainably sourced #timber helps pave the way toward a greener built environment. At Climate Asset Management, #forestry forms a cornerstone of our Natural Capital Strategy (NCS) and Nature-Based Carbon Strategy (NBCS). We collaborate with local operating partners and project developers to optimize timber and #carbonrevenues, while delivering lasting economic, social, and environmental impact — especially for the communities we work alongside. 📰 Explore our article on the significance of forests - https://lnkd.in/eGD9XBng Here is a glimpse of some of our impactful forestry projects in action! 📸 - The first picture captures the scenic view of Okota Forest. - The second showcases young trees thriving in Tuhua Forest. - The third highlights the CAM team in action. #InternationalDayOfTheForests #SustainableForestry #CarbonSequestration #SustainableConstruction [1] - “Earth’s Biodiversity Depends on the World’s Forests.” UNEP-WCMC, May 2020, https://lnkd.in/d4d8gCYV.
