ABP is delighted to see such strong interest from developers to use the ports of Swansea and Port Talbot for floating offshore wind projects in the Celtic Sea. We look forward to working with developers over the coming months to meet their requirements. Port Talbot has a natural sheltered deep-water harbour and large amounts of developable land. Our port at Swansea is located only five nautical miles from Port Talbot and combined, our Swansea Bay ports allow for coordination on construction support and provides a location for supply chain organisations. Both ports are ideally located close to floating offshore wind opportunities in the Celtic Sea and beyond in terms of export potential. They also sit within a region and communities which have a rich industrial heritage and are a strong source of relevant skills and experience. The Crown Estate announcement is a significant milestone, bringing us a step closer to realising our exciting plans to develop Swansea Bay into a global hub for floating offshore wind and green energy development. Floating offshore wind is a significant economic opportunity for Wales. We look forward to working with all our partners to maximise this opportunity. #CelticSea #OffshoreWind #FloatingOffshoreWind #EnergyTransition
