It’s taken Unboxed Homes more than a decade to deliver a short terrace of custom-build homes in Peckham, south London. Why did it take so long? And was it worth the wait? Isabel Allen speaks to Jane Middlehurst and Gus Zogolovitch BA, MBA to unpick the project. Read the article and see more photos from Timothy Soar in the link below ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/edm-z8xZ

Architecture Today reposted this
Michelmersh Brick Holdings PLC have written a brilliant article for Architecture Today exploring the rising popularity of Roman bricks in contemporary architecture. With an elongated profile, classic look and timeless appeal, they offer architects the opportunity to add character, texture, and depth to modern builds. Read the facinating article about the resurgence of Roman brick here: https://lnkd.in/eC9yY7YF #Architecture #RomanBricks #Michelmersh #FacadeDesign #Brickwork #Materiality #ArchitecturalDetailing

The deadline to make the most of these Regenerative Architecture opportunities is fast approaching! KEY DATES ⬇️ - Deadline for RAI entry – 16th May - Deadline for Competition entry – 23rd May
There are so many reasons to submit to the Regenerative Architecture Index, but here's another one! In a move which we hope is the first of many, The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary are running their design competition for the world’s first International School of Rewilding and Regenerative Agriculture (ISoRaRA), at Sandown on the Isle of Wight, with a longlist drawn exclusively from #RAI 2025 entrants. We developed the Regenerative Architecture Index last year, in partnership with Architecture Today, as a means of benchmarking architects on regenerative projects, policies, working practices and actions. Its aim is to share best practice, celebrate success, and communicate this work to the wider construction industry to raise awareness and act as a catalyst for regenerative practice across the industry. Inviting exclusive access for RAI entrants to projects such as this, which will be sited in The Isle of Wight Biosphere (one of only seven biosphere reserves in the UK), supports us as an industry in highlighting the non-negotiable importance of including regenerative principles in every design process. The competition will set out to identify an architect to work with Wildheart as well as the ISoRaRA stakeholders and funders to develop initial design proposals. Successful entrants will also engage in a long-term partnership to monitor the project’s performance and the on-going relationship between wildlife, people, ecology and landscape, developing and evolving the campus as required. Entrants to the RAI 2025 will have the chance to submit a short expression of interest for this exciting opportunity. Meet the client: Lloyd Lee, Managing Partner at Yoo Capital discusses the company’s investment in Olympia and Camden, reflecting a bold belief in London’s enduring global appeal – and what makes a successful architect-client relationship for him. "We were blown away by enormous potential hiding in plain sight. Olympia has been a London icon since 1886 but had only ever had piecemeal investment. The more we spoke to the wider business community, cultural organisations, the Council and residents, the clearer it became to us that Olympia’s future could be so much more." Be a part of the conversation on regenerative architecture! “How do you join the Regenerative Architecture Index as a new practice still shaping its ethos?” That’s the kind of real-world, practice-focused question being explored right now in the Discussions section of https://lnkd.in/ee_cqytW — a growing space for sharing knowledge, asking questions, and supporting one another in the shift toward regenerative practice. Chloe van Grieken from Hamilton Hay Van Jonker recently asked for advice on joining the RAI as a startup practice. If you’ve been through this journey — or are on it now — your insights could really help.
