It was great to welcome the regional finance team to Greenwich Wharf today for a site visit and tour of our dredger, City of Westminster. It’s not every day you get to see firsthand how our crews and wharf team work together to support the wider Tarmac business. Greenwich, as always, is an impressive site to visit. Thank you to Alireza Zand and his team for hosting us. It was also good to show off the City of Westminter. Thank you to Captain Richard Wade and the crew for the warm welcome and detailed explanation of the vessel operations. The visit sparked some great conversations, knowledge sharing, and a deeper appreciation of the unique challenges and opportunities in the marine environment. It’s always valuable to connect operational and finance teams, share ideas and look at ways to improve our business. #crh #tarmac #cityofwestminter #Greenwich #dredger #dredging #teamwork

We've partnered with Travis Perkins to host a series of Band of Builders Big Brew events at selected branches between now and October 2025. As part of the campaign, we're joining together to break the silence around mental health in construction. The Big Brew is all about creating safe spaces for tradespeople to talk over a cuppa and provide each other with support. Together, we can improve awareness of both mental health issues and ways to seek help for members of the UK construction industry. Check your local branch for event dates, and we'll see you there! #TogetherStronger

Last month we hosted National Grid and its construction partners at our Tunstead Quarry to collaborate on the Great Grid Upgrade. It was an insightful day filled with discussions on how we can work together to help shape the future of energy infrastructure and overcome the challenges of linear projects. We look forward to continuing the conversation! What a great photo, thanks for sharing Nathan 👏

Industry leaders recently gathered at our Tilbury Depot for a Fleet Demonstration Day, hosted by Sustain Alliance. The event showcased cutting-edge electric plant, alternative fleet solutions and efficient logistics that have been designed to decarbonise major UK infrastructure projects, including the Lower Thames Crossing. From battery-electric excavators to high-efficiency logistics, the day highlighted real-world solutions that are already transforming construction and paving the way towards net zero. Collaboration is key, and it was fantastic to see experts from across the sector engaging in hands-on demonstrations and discussions on the future of low carbon construction. Thank you to everyone who joined us Lower Thames Crossing, Volvo Construction Equipment, Renault Trucks, SMT GB, Holcim UK. Read more about how we're leading the transition: https://lnkd.in/eurNhVTF

We're joining eFREIGHT 2030, a pioneering initiative that’s shaping the future of zero-emission transport. As part of this UK Government-backed programme, we’re introducing five electric HGVs into our fleet to support cement, aggregate, asphalt, and plant movements. Working alongside TVS Interfleet, we’ll be developing new safety innovations and expanding our fast-charging network around London to help accelerate the shift to low-carbon logistics. By putting eHGVs to the test in some of the construction sector’s toughest environments, we’re driving forward real change and helping to create a more sustainable supply chain. We're proud to share that Tarmac was the recipient of a series of award wins at the prestigious Mineral Products Association Quarries & Nature 2025 Awards, last week. Not only did we take home the Restoration Award for the transformation of Langford Quarry, a project delivered in partnership with the RSPB, but our collaboration with Cranfield University also earned the Innovation Award. In addition, the planned restoration of Wivenhoe Quarry and the landscape-scale restoration work at Dry Rigg and Arcow quarries were both highly commended. Congratulations to all involved!
