Our Dearest Green Community, it's our birthday 🌱. These days, 16 years ago, two brothers, Roman Zinchenko and Andriy Zinchenko, turned their idea into reality and created Greencubator. As Roman loves to say, "We were tired of hearing the same boring presentations at conferences and believed we could talk about energy in a fun, engaging, and exciting way." What began in 2008 as a platform for renewable energy initiatives has blossomed into a vibrant community of green technologies and sustainable solutions. 🎂 Over these 16 years, we have: • Nurtured over 160 green innovation companies, fueling their growth and potential. • Awarded over €2.8 million in grants, thanks to the invaluable support of partners like the EBRD, the European Union, The Possible, ClimateLaunchpad and many more, empowering climate innovation. • Celebrated when graduates of our programs raised more than €12.8 million in investments in 2023 alone! • Hosted countless trainings, webinars, panel discussions, camps, and networking events. • Amplified Ukraine's voice at numerous international events worldwide. • Empowered Ukrainian businesses with energy sustainability training. • Volunteered and supported the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Our work in implementing green technologies and promoting business development in Ukraine has been recognized with numerous awards. However, the most important reward for Greencubator is to see the incredible number of friends and partners who are ready to pave the way for a sustainable future and green recovery of Ukraine together with us, as well as the number of successful businesses that Greencubator has been honored to support 🏆 At the Heart of Green Innovation 🌱 We are celebrating 16 years and have plans for even more. With many projects and even greater scale. So stay tuned 😉 With heartfelt gratitude, Your Greencubator Team Roman Zinchenko Olga Zubchyk Olga Iermak Daria Prokaza Oksana Yutovets Valeriia Mosiienko Victor Sabaldashov Kseniia Potuzhna Olexandra Danchenko Kataryna Nazarova GO TO-U Hempire UA The Good Plastic Company Delfast Inc. 🇺🇦 Releaf Paper S.Lab FRENDT Carbominer MELT WATER Inc. ⚡️ 👨💼 This winter, Greencubator held a series of trainings of the #Energy #Resilience Business Academy in 5 cities across the country with the support of UNDP #Ukraine and the Japan - The Government of Japan. The main goal of this project was to teach Ukrainian entrepreneurs how to effectively adapt their businesses to the energy crisis caused by the war.  125 entrepreneurs from different regions of Ukraine have been trained at the Academy. Among them were businesses from #Vinnytsia, #Kharkiv, #Odesa, #Lviv, #Kyiv, #Chernihiv, many relocated businesses, as well as two participants who came directly from #Kherson. 📍 These companies represented a variety of sectors: from producers of agricultural products, ceramics, cosmetics, PVC pipes and technological products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to energy companies and entrepreneurs from tourism, medicine, construction and electric transport. Many participants emphasized this training program's importance and relevance for their business. 🙌 🇺🇦 According to them, thanks to the Energy Resilience Academy, they were able to gain not only knowledge but also a strong motivation to implement innovative solutions that will help improve the efficiency of their companies. 💚 We are grateful to our trainers, Roman Zinchenko, Julia Usenko, Stanislav Melnyk, Vadym Lytvyn and guest speakers who filled this training program with valuable practical knowledge! Today, we are pleased to invite you to read interesting feedback from participants in all cities: https://lnkd.in/dykmJnJW 📈 #Greencubator intends to continue this project online to provide tools for adaptation and development in the current environment to even more Ukrainian businesses and communities. Special thanks to the Greencubator team, who make this project possible! Olga Iermak, Oksana Yutovets, Kseniia Potuzhna, Olga Zubchyk, Valeriia Mosiienko, Daria Prokaza 💚

Dear green community! 💚 This is a message from Olga Zubchyk, Climate Innovation Vouchers project coordinator. I sincerely congratulate you (and myself) on the conclusion of the fourth and final wave of the Climate Innovation Vouchers grant project in Ukraine! These four waves have been a real adventure for the Greencubator team — with all the challenges, achievements, awards, and gratitude. We have supported the development of dozens of Ukrainian businesses that are now operating not only in Ukraine but also around the world. Of course, in the story of the Climate Innovation Vouchers, we have had companies that were unable to complete their grant projects due to the outbreak of a full-scale war. However, even in the most difficult times, our Ukrainian businesses remained the ones who inspired us! They inspire us with their work. They inspire with resilience. They inspire with ideas. And this is the main reason for us to look for new opportunities for the development of Ukrainian climate businesses. Our resilience, motivation, and desire to move forward on our homeland give us strength. Thank you for that 💙💛 And no, I'm not saying goodbye.... We continue our work to support Ukrainian businesses.  In the meantime, I'm sharing with you the great results of this final wave of Climate Innovation Vouchers: ✅ 158 registered applicants; ✅ 51 applications submitted (finalized and accepted for consideration); ✅ 38 new service providers; ✅ 7 consultations for more than 250 participants; 💡 What's next? We are currently conducting the first stage of application evaluation - qualification selection.  The project team analyzes applications based on basic criteria: 🔹 Companies must be implementing or developing climate-friendly technologies. 🔹 They must be registered in Ukraine, have been operating for at least 1 year, and belong to small or medium-sized businesses. 📌 There is still a lot of work to be done! We will notify all participants whose applications will be selected for the second stage — expert evaluation. 🏆 The Climate Innovation Vouchers scheme is part of the EBRD's Finance and Technology Transfer Centre for Climate Change (FINTECC) programme, which the EU supports through the EU4CLIMATE initiative. The Ukrainian NGO Greencubator has successfully implemented the project in Ukraine since its launch in 2017.

🌱💵 How can green startups secure funding? On February 3, at a training from Greencubator and the Ukrainian Startup Fund, experts shared their advice for Ukrainian startups in climate innovation. Here are the main takeaways: 💡 "To find relevant grant programs, consider national and international initiatives, use LinkedIn to search for opportunities, attend events with donors, and reach out to experienced partners. It is important to understand that when you effectively work with grant applications, funders themselves begin to approach you with funding offers. This happens if you already have experience in implementing successful grant projects and a solid reputation. Therefore, creating a fundraising strategy that will help you approach the process systematically and effectively use all opportunities is necessary," – says Bohdan Kruhlyk, director of FRENDT. 🌍 "Online events for startups are a powerful tool for networking and attracting investors, even if they don't provide direct financial benefits. Despite the difficulties of attending offline events, many online competitions can open up new opportunities. For example, during my presentation at the Startup World Cup, an investor who was interested in the project wrote to me during the presentation. We didn't win the competition but got valuable contacts and eventually attracted significant investment," – says Rodion Borokhovych, Head of Business Development at ECOFACTOR. 📌 When applying for grants, Olga Zubchyk, project manager of Greencubator and the Climate Innovation Vouchers grant project, advises: 📝 "Stick to the deadline and carefully review the application, as it may require preparation that is difficult to do in one day in a high-quality way. If the question is specific, for example, about reducing emissions, add arguments, research, or examples of similar projects. This will help the jury and experts evaluate your application correctly. Read the requirements of the donor carefully and answer the questions." 🔗 We remind you that Ukrainian green startups and small and medium-sized businesses can receive up to €50,000 in grants under the Climate Innovation Vouchers project. 📅 The deadline is February 14. 📌 Details: https://climate.biz/ Use all the opportunities, build a fundraising strategy, and grow!
