  • Cultivating a greener future in India 🌱 Yara India joined the Sustainable Agriculture Summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), where policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and farmers gathered under the theme of cultivating a greener future through innovation, resilience, and sustainability.   Speaking at the summit, Sanjiv Kanwar, Managing Director for Yara South Asia, emphasised that sustainability could only be achieved through constant innovation. He added that to sustain and improve agriculture’s current contribution to GDP, the sector needs to grow three times its current size. 📈 This resonated with the keynote address from Alka Arora, Additional Secretary for the Department of Agricultural Research and Education and Financial Advisor for ICAR- Indian Council of Agricultural Research, where she highlighted the need for a collaborative approach to drive innovation and lay the foundation of sustainability in agriculture. At Yara Africa & Asia, we are committed to transforming the food system through innovative solutions to empower farmers to adopt regenerative agricultural practices. We look forward to collaborations that will pave the way for a greener future. 💡 #NaturePositive CII Northern Region

  • Next stop in our journey to digitally connecting Africa: Kenya 🌍 Last September, Yara joined MADE – an alliance aimed at extending digital access to critical services to 100 million people in Africa over the next decade, together with MastercardAfrican Development Bank Group, Equity Bank LimitedMicrosoft and other partners. 📱 We know that digital connectivity is not only vital for economic growth and productivity, but is also crucial to foster an ecosystem that has access to global markets, and provide financial and social inclusion for underserved communities. 🗝️ Africa’s smallholder farmers currently produce approximately 80% of the continent's food. Empowering them through knowledge and solutions from #ThryveInnovationColab can help to transform food systems and close the gap in food security for the region. 🍴 In March, we joined the #MADEAlliance: Kenya Chapter launch in Nairobi, held on the sidelines of the “Scaling Finance for Smallholder Farmers in Africa” conference. In attendance was Esther Van de Voort, Innovation Portfolio Director for Yara Africa & Asia (YAA). Together with MADE Alliance partners and African government representatives, we continue advocating for public-private partnerships, bringing our commitment and efforts towards prosperity and impact for smallholder farmers in Kenya and in Africa. 🤝 At YAA, we remain committed to responsibly feeding the world and protecting the planet through a collaborative society. As we continue building partnerships and delivering value through Thryve, we are excited to further our impact with local partners in Kenya and Tanzania.

  • Yara India is celebrating women in agriculture and in the workplace to #BeYou 🎉 Throughout the month of March, Yara India has recognised the incredible contribution of women in agriculture and at the workplace. The theme #BeYou celebrates authenticity, individuality, and the diverse roles women play – because every voice, every story, and every journey matters! 📣 The campaign kicked off with an insightful roundtable discussion on ‘Advancing Gender Inclusive Agri Value Chain’, organised in association with FICCI and the Solidaridad Network in New Delhi. Bringing together stakeholders across the public and private sectors the discussion focused on tackling challenges to promote inclusivity in the agri value chain. Joining Sanjiv Kanwar from Yara India were Elisabeth Faure from the United Nations World Food Programme, Siraj Hussain from FICCI, and Neha from Solidaridad Network. A highlight of the roundtable was the ‘Voices from the Field’, where female farmers representing self-help groups and women farmer producer organisations (FPOs) in Yara’s network shared their real-life experiences, contributions, challenges, and success stories. 🌱 Hearing from these voices first-hand provided a critical platform to discuss actionable strategies for enhancing gender inclusivity in agriculture, focusing on policies and market-driven solutions. 🤝 The India team were also delighted to host Nirupama Shekhar from IMA India and Ine Sofie Kristiansen from the Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi, who shared valuable insights on advancing #GenderEquality and empowering women to reach their full potential.

  • #DYK to grow top-quality potatoes with high yield, key macro-nutrients like nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), and calcium (Ca) play a critical role? 🗝️ This was one of the topics covered by Yara Australia during the Gorst Rural Supplies Grower Day in Koroit, Victoria, where local potato farmers gathered to discuss the latest advancements in crop nutrition, protection, and sustainable farming practices. 🥔   Essential nutrients are the foundation of a balanced fertiliser program, and understanding how to apply them effectively can make a significant difference in both productivity and profitability. As farmers are increasingly looking into #sustainable options while improving efficiency, Yara’s crop nutrition program offers a practical way for farmers to lower their carbon footprint without compromising on yield or quality. 🌱 Thanks to the use of a catalytic process that was first developed by Yara and later shared with other producers, Yara’s fertilisers produced with catalytic cleaning are 50-60% lower in carbon footprint compared to those made without. It takes joint effort to truly transform our food system. This Grower Day brought together key industry players, including Syngenta and PepsiCo, to support and engage with local farmers together. 💪

This World Water Day, we're celebrating Yara Korea's innovative work that's enabling farmers to convert from irrigation to fertigation. 💧   🎯 In Korea, the average age of a farmer is 68 and the availability of labor in agriculture is diminishing. Add this to volatile crop prices, Korean farmers are seeking innovative solutions to improve productivity while minimizing environmental impact. This is where Yara's fertigation solutions can play a crucial role!    🌱 Fertigation is the mix of fertilizer and irrigation that optimizes water and fertilizer use, while also reducing carbon emissions. By converting irrigation to fertigation, fewer labor resources are required, offering a better cost position.   🧑🌾 However, farmers who only use irrigation methods are usually unaware of the benefits associated with converting to fertigation and changing farming practices takes time and effort.   💡 To support farmers in adapting fertigation practices, Yara Korea has developed Crop Total Solutions for precise application in 25 crops and has hosted over 40 farmer seminars. They have also been working with key distribution partners, making it easier and more cost-effective for farmers to transition to fertigation.   Thanks to Yara Korea's innovative approach, fertigation is helping farmers improve productivity, increasing incomes, and contributing to a more resilient and sustainable food system. 👏   Learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/dW9uMn2v   #WorldWaterDay
