A journey of discovery at NCCS! 🔬 #ImpactSG recently organized a Learning Journey to the National Cancer Centre Singapore, where our pledgers and the Startup Kids Club had the privilege of learning about Proton Beam Therapy from Professor Han Chong Toh and Dr. Yoke Lim Soong. Attendees explored the evolving landscape of cancer treatment, including discussions on current challenges, emerging research, and the application of innovative technologies like proton therapy. They toured the Goh Cheng Liang Proton Beam Therapy Centre, witnessing firsthand the cutting-edge technology. Many were inspired to learn how they could contribute to this vital area of healthcare. If you are interested learn more about #giving and ImpactSG's Beam of Hope Fund, please feel free to contact us. Thank you to NCCS and our expert speakers for this eye-opening experience! Shout-out to Boonsri Srinivasan for connecting us with the Startup Kids Club community!
ImpactSG - Gateway to Giving
Non-profit Organizations
To nurture & grow a community of purposeful givers in Singapore and Asia
About us
ImpactSG is the "gateway to giving" for individuals who are new to giving or newcomers to Singapore and our giving ecosystem. We adopt a “3P” model to: nurture a community of engaged Pledgers; forge synergistic Partnerships with other charities and corporates; and implement impactful Programmes with clearly defined outcomes for specific groups of beneficiaries. We practise a “4T” approach to giving (time, talent, ties, treasure) and encourage our Pledgers to go beyond financial donations to volunteer their time, share their expertise, or tap on their professional networks to help others.

What does it take to be a successful woman leader? 🤔 At the recent "Her Voice: Women Leaders Paving the Way" event with DBS , we had the opportunity to hear from our esteemed panelists, Elaine Teo, Sylvie Khau, Sue-Anne Toh, and Lynn Hermijanto. Moderated by #ImpactSG pledger Marissa C., the panelists shared their inspiring perspectives and advice. We were especially moved by Lynn's (also an ImpactSG pledger) story of #giving, which shaped her values and legacy. Our Executive Director Edmund Joseph Twohill also shared insights into impactSG's mission and the strong, resilient women who inspired him. Thank you to these incredible women for empowering us all! ✨ Shoutout to Andreana Ng, Cammie Sim, Daniel Low for making this possible!

Earlier last month, we had a Climate Leaders' Focus Group where we explored the multifaceted nature of climate change mitigation and adaptation, its present challenges, and how philanthropy can play a part in it. Sustainability is a key pillar for #ImpactSG. We recognise the urgent need for climate action and are dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote a greener future. In his remarks at the Temasek Ecosperity Conversations, Singapore's Ambassador for Climate Action (and ImpactSG Chairman), Ravi Menon, described achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 as both an economic opportunity and a moral imperative [CNA article: https://lnkd.in/gNMm7Q8Y]. We believe that by working together and leveraging the 4Ts of giving - Time, Talent, Ties, and Treasure - we can create a more sustainable future. If you're passionate about this cause, connect with us to explore how you can get involved: community@impactsg.org. #giving #sustainability #climateaction

Last year, #ImpactSG partnered with ThinkSuite Inc to bring Thomas Park to speak with the students of Teck Whye Primary School. The session was a resounding success, with students deeply engaged and eager to learn more. Inspired by his talk, the students had questions that Thomas Park later answered them individually through personalized video messages! The students were so grateful for his time and insights that they, in turn, sent us heartfelt thank-you videos to express their appreciation. This heartwarming exchange is a beautiful example of how giving can take many forms and have a lasting impact. Thomas Park's willingness to share his knowledge and time demonstrates the power of #giving, even in small ways. Let's be inspired by this collaboration and find ways to give back to our community through our time, talent, ties, and treasure. Shoutout to Richard Mak and John Tilak for making this collaboration possible. It was a privilege to work alongside the Asian Family Legacy Foundation (AFLF) on meaningful conversations about family legacy, the next generation, and how family offices can drive sustainable impact. 🌟 This was only possible through the relationship we have nurtured with Michael Z., who was instrumental in setting up the Asian Family Legacy Foundation (https://lnkd.in/gzmMUim9). Michael Z. is a dear friend of #ImpactSG and has been someone we have been engaging even while we were a ground-up initiative. Our pledger, Michael Z.'s, reflections on building a legacy truly resonates with our mission —these discussions are so much more than professional; they’re deeply personal. It’s about what we leave behind for those who come after us. We are very excited to further deepen our partnership with AFLF in 2025 and beyond, to work towards fostering purposeful #giving together. Here’s to creating a ripple effect of positive change, one legacy at a time. 💛
Asian Family Legacy Foundation: A Year To Remember As we reflect on the year gone by, our hearts overflow with gratitude for the moments that united families, sparked profound conversations, and laid the foundation for enduring legacies. This past year marked not just a promising beginning, but a remarkable journey of growth, inspiration, and meaningful impact—one that deepened connections and brought visions to life. The milestones we achieved and the bonds we forged remind us of the power of shared purpose and collective hope. They inspire us to keep building a future where families flourish, values endure, and legacies echo across generations. With unwavering commitment, we look ahead to 2025 and beyond—empowering communities, nurturing change, and creating a world where every action leaves a meaningful imprint. Here’s to a brighter, more connected future! #FamilyLegacy #FamilyOffice #NextGenerations

Prof. Annie Koh, PhD's reflections are a timely nudge to not only harness the momentum we’ve built but also channel it towards creating meaningful impact in the communities around us. 🟠🌱 With the Lunar New Year upon us, the Year of the Snake brings a unique symbolism—wisdom, transformation, and adaptability. Just like the snake sheds its skin, it’s a time for renewal and embracing change, as we navigate challenges and opportunities with clarity, purpose, and a focus on making a difference. 🐍 Here’s wishing everyone a year filled with prosperity, personal growth, and success. Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧✨ #Giving #ImpactSG
January 2025 is coming to an end and the lunar new year will commence this coming Wednesday ( 29th Jan) with the start of the year of the wood snake. The snake is known for her wisdom in Chinese folklore and is also the most tenacious of the 12 animal signs. I take this to mean that we need to navigate the coming year with confidence and positivity. We cannot do this without the 3Ps - Purpose, People and Partnerships. Purpose is the reason why folks like Nadir Zafar and Carolina Yeo work their hearts out to organise the Singapore Leaders Network (SGLN) summit and created a program which got everyone thinking at the start of the year. Purpose was why we had a mindful conversation featuring Weiling Chua, Dickson Lim and Edmund Joseph Twohill - sharing on why and how many FOs are spending time and resources contributing to society from ground up to build social impact. When I had dinner with pak Charles Menaro and his family, I was asked by his son Marcel Menaro, why am I so passionate about mentoring the next gen leaders of business families. The answer is simple because if business families set their hearts on doing good and doing well - many of their countries’ people will benefit from their enterprises and inclusive entrepreneurship. So planning for succession of the business is not just an event, it’s a progression. Thanks to Graham Poston of Korn Ferry for sharing this message at the closed door session hosted by KF. I had fun moderating the next gen panel with Wei Jia Chin and Vishal Vijay sharing candidly on how their own progression took place and succession is not just about an individual but also involves team leadership. Without the right leaders and teams - there’s no effective succession and like all successful movies, it takes many hands, hearts and heads to produce a block buster movie. That brings me to Partnerships. Many thanks Matthew Norman for being ever generous to share your wisdom whenever we meet. Matt has also graciously met with many FO principals and trusted advisors whenever I requested for his time, whether in London or when I called on him to share on panels or virtual meetings. We also celebrate trusted partnerships between families and I’m delighted to have linked family offices together to build better and broader for all. So good to have an amazing meal at Violet Onn restaurant at National Art gallery with trusted friends. So I finished last week well- brainstorming on two new programs coming up this year with Ann Tan And June H. of Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth Singapore (CSP SG). We are ready to lead and learn with confidence and positivity in the new year of the Wood Snake with renewed Purpose, building impact for and with People and working with trusted Partners who share like minded values. Gong Xi Fa Cai, Xin Nian Kuai Le everyone.

Last week, the Singapore Leaders Network (SGLN) Alumni Conference brought together thought leaders to explore the future of our world. #ImpactSG was proud to be represented by our Executive Director, Edmund Joseph Twohill, who delved into the evolving landscape of philanthropy in Singapore. In a separate session, our Chairman, Ravi Menon, shared his expertise on preparing for the world in 2025 during a fireside chat moderated by Malminderjit Singh, who is from the inaugural SGLN cohort and the lead organiser for the event (also an ImpactSG volunteer). These insightful discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration and forward-thinking leadership in shaping a better future. What are your thoughts on the future of #giving in Singapore as we turn 60? Share your perspectives in the comments below! #SGLNAlumniConference #philanthropy #SG60

Had a great time at ImpactSG - Gateway to Giving’s dialogue yesterday. We spoke about how fast the world is changing, and shared ideas on how individuals and organisations can help to those who are less privileged keep up. Particularly inspired by the discussion around giving through the “4Ts” – time, talent, ties, and treasure – as we work towards a stronger, more inclusive future. Big thanks to ImpactSG for the invitation and for sparking such an engaging and thought-provoking conversation!
