At the Digital Construction Asia forum, Jacob Hoare shared insights on the rapid growth of data centres in Southeast Asia, with Thailand achieving 20% annual growth and Malaysia aiming for over 860 MW by 2025. Jacob addressed the challenges of evolving technical specifications during development of data centres, and explained how technology can enhance project delivery through AI by giving engineers deep expertise available at their fingertips. One of the key takeaways from the forum was that AI and technology, when embedded horizontally across all operations, offer promising solutions to delivery challenges. We're poised for a transformative shift in how we deliver projects and engage with clients, creating opportunities for greater efficiency and innovation. He also talked about the evolution of asset monitoring, highlighting that data is critical in any digital transformation effort. Whilst data forms the foundation for AI success, the real value comes from domain expertise that provides critical context. By connecting the dots between technology and people, organisations can strive towards AI excellence.
