What an honor and pleasure to have delivered on behalf of the Education Above All Foundation Al Fakhoora Program the keynote presentation on supporting quality and relevant tertiary education for marginalized and conflict-affected youth at the The International Academic Forum (IAFOR) 11th Asian Conference on Education & International Development in #Tokyo !  The #international, #intercultural and #interdisciplinary Conference had an elite audience of some 830 delegates in person and online from over 60 countries. The #keynote presentation highlighted: 1. The global context of #tertiary education with particular focus on the marginalized and vulnerable #youth. 2. The barriers that such individuals and #communities confront, and what needs to be done to break those barriers to create inclusive tertiary #education opportunities for them. 3. The financial gap in tertiary education, and the innovative #financing solutions and resources to overcome that challenge to help make the dreams of marginalized youth become a reality. 4. The power of #nations working together, along with international development, to create impactful and sustainable success stories where education becomes a path to global #citizenship and #peace. Education isn’t just a right—it’s the key to global citizenship, a driver of #prosperity, and the foundation of a more peaceful, sustainable future.

Transforming Education, One School at a Time! We’re on the ground in Songwe where the Government of Tanzania, in partnership with Education Above All Foundation's Educate A Child programme and UNICEF Tanzania is witnessing real change for out-of-school children. During a joint visit to Isenzanya and Ipunga Primary Schools, we observed learners in action, saw attendance monitoring in practice, and assessed WASH facilities that are crucial for a healthy learning environment. Outside the classroom walls, we also got to meet with school committees, local leaders, parents, and community members—because quality primary education thrives when the whole community is involved! In the margins of the annual meeting of IDB’s Board of Governors, IDB Invest, Fundación Chile, and Education Above All Foundation co-organized a side event on #Education & #Resilience, where I spoke about the Greening Education Partnership(GEP), which now includes 97 countries and over 1700 organizations. GEP aims to inspire action to empower learners with the skills required for sustainable economic development within the context of the transition toward digital and green economies. Over 6,000 attacks on education were recorded worldwide in 2022-2023 alone. Schools have been bombed, looted, and occupied, depriving millions of children and youth of their right to education.
