The Taranaki Rugby Football Union (TRFU) posted a total net surplus after extraordinary items of $43,426 for 2024. The result was announced at the 139th Annual General Meeting of the TRFU held at the Bell Block Rugby Sports & Community Club on Thursday evening.

The Bread Capital of Manaia is is line to host the first Ranfurly Shield defence in the town’s history on the afternoon of Saturday July 19. The town is scheduled to host the Yarrows Taranaki Bulls second defence of the current tenure against Meads Cup champions Thames Valley. The match follows on from the sold-out Yarrows Centenary Match between the Amber & Blacks and Wellington in July 2023. The Yarrows Taranaki Bulls will host their first match at the fully redeveloped Yarrow Stadium (Stadium Taranaki from March 8) with a Ranfurly Shield defence on June 11. The Wednesday night clash against King Country is scheduled to kick off at 6pm. There has been significant interest in 2025 Yarrows Taranaki Bulls corporate hospitality packages.
