#HotOffThePress - Wärtsilä has signed a five-year Lifecycle Agreement with Viking Line covering the ferry M/S Viking Glory. The vessel has been supported by an earlier Wärtsilä agreement since its launch in 2021, and this renewal further extends and expands the partnership and benefits provided by the agreement. The scope of the agreement includes maintenance planning, operational support, spare parts and services for the equipment covered, and a ‘one point of contact’ through the contract manager. It also includes Wärtsilä’s unique Expert Insight digital predictive maintenance service. M/S Bømmelfjord er en moderne tråler som fisker sild, makrell og lodde i områder som Nordsjøen, Barentshavet, Norskehavet og Atlanterhavet. Båten er utstyrt med en kraftig Wärtsilä 9L32-motor på hele 6034 hestekrefter, noe som gjør den godt rustet for tøffe oppdrag.   I februar opplevde Bømmelfjord et havari og måtte slepes til Rubben for reparasjoner. Dyktige folk fra Quantiserv har allerede gjort en fantastisk jobb med å reparere skader på motorblokka. Nå er Wärtsilä Workshop i gang med reparasjon av blandt annet kamaksel og register samt overhaling av motor komponenter før sammenstilling av motor. For å sikre ein trygg videre drift for kunden blir det flushing av smøroljesystemet før oppstart og prøvekjøring.   På bildet ser vi skipets reder og maskinister ikledd stilige Wärtsilä-klær. 🌊⚓

📢 Wärtsilä Gas Solutions will supply the cargo handling systems for three 45,000 m3 capacity gas carrier vessels being built at the HD Hyundai Mipo Co., Ltd. in Korea. Two ships have been contracted by Singapore and Hong Kong headquartered ship owner/operator Purus, and the third by Pasco Gas, based in Istanbul. "HMD is a key customer in the medium-sized gas carrier market. Over the past decade, we have equipped more than 15 medium-sized gas carriers built by HMD. We are excited to continue with the latest project and several other ongoing ones," comments Patrick Ha, Sales Manager, Wärtsilä Gas Solutions. We had the pleasure of hosting an insightful technical seminar on solutions for LNG Carriers last week in partnership with Fearnleys . It was a fantastic opportunity for our teams to share industry trends and engage in meaningful discussions with marine industry experts.   The seminar began with a warm welcome from Stefan Nysjö, setting the stage for an informative and engaging event, after which Fearnleys Paul O'Sullivan provided a comprehensive market update - highlighting key developments and opportunities within the current LNG sector.   Our Head of Strategy, Matteo Natali shared these thoughts in wrapping up the event, "Decarbonisation is significantly impacting the maritime industry, presenting unique challenges for the LNG market. New emission regulations are bringing a level of disruption we haven't seen in a long time.
