  • #HotOffThePress - Wärtsilä has signed a five-year Lifecycle Agreement with Viking Line covering the ferry M/S Viking Glory. The vessel has been supported by an earlier Wärtsilä agreement since its launch in 2021, and this renewal further extends and expands the partnership and benefits provided by the agreement. The scope of the agreement includes maintenance planning, operational support, spare parts and services for the equipment covered, and a ‘one point of contact’ through the contract manager. It also includes Wärtsilä’s unique Expert Insight digital predictive maintenance service. "By ensuring the highest levels of operational efficiency, Viking Line can continue its great work in minimising the environmental impact of its operations,” - Henrik Wilhelms, Director, Agreement Sales, Wärtsilä Marine. • 🎉🚢Wrapping Up Singapore Maritime Week 2025 Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) was a significant event for Wärtsilä Marine, reinforcing our commitment to decarbonisation, digitalisation, and the future of maritime training. A key highlight was our renewed partnership with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to drive maritime decarbonisation and digitalisation progress. ✅ The launch of the Methanol Power and Control (PAC) simulation model, in partnership with the Maritime Energy Training Facility (METF) and Wavelink Maritime Institute. ✅ Yue Sum Choo, Head of Marine Traffic Control, explored how data-driven solutions transform port efficiency and resilience. ✅ Hannu Mäntymaa, VP of Voyage Services, introduced the Wärtsilä Methanol PAC Simulator, highlighting the critical role of upskilling in the energy transition. 💬 "AI will drive a transformative leap in maritime operational efficiency, but it cannot achieve this alone. Experts are crucial for interpreting AI insights, and commitment to behavioural change is key for turning those insights into concrete operational improvements." ✅ Neil Bennett, GM Sales, and Sanjeev Thasari, Product Sales Manager, explored the impact beyond the launch of Wärtsilä's Methanol PAC Simulator. Thank you to all who participated in the discussions at #SMW2025. Let's continue working together for a brighter, more sustainable maritime future. #MaritimeDecarbonisation #SingaporeMaritimeWeek #MaritimeInnovation

  • 🎉🤝 We have some exciting news to share from Singapore Maritime Week (SMW): Wärtsilä and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) have renewed their partnership to accelerate maritime decarbonisation and digitalisation.   With a focus on introducing next-generation alternative fuels, optimising digital port operations, and developing future maritime talent, Wärtsilä and MPA will collaborate with companies in Singapore’s MarineTech ecosystem to explore R&D projects to lower the cost of adopting new technologies.   Two key initiatives included in the renewed partnership: ✅ The introduction of the Methanol Power and Control (PAC) simulation model in partnership with Maritime Energy Training Facility (METF) and Wavelink Maritime Institute. ✅ The introduction of the Ammonia PAC simulation model in early 2026, which will further enhance the industry’s capabilities to handle and operate ammonia-powered vessels.    “As the world’s busiest transhipment port and largest bunkering hub, Singapore has an important role to play in shipping’s journey towards net-zero. That’s why we are proud to continue fostering our partnership with MPA on accelerating this transition.” - Håkan Agnevall, President and CEO of Wärtsilä   For more information 👉 https://lnkd.in/ezygbtph   #SingaporeMaritimeWeek #MaritimeInnovation #PressRelease #decarbonisation #digitalisation

  • #HotOffThePress - Wärtsilä will supply three Wärtsilä 25DF dual-fuel engines for a new LNG Bunkering vessel being built for Ibaizabal Group. The engines will feature Wärtsilä’s innovative NextDF technology, which dramatically reduces methane emissions when operating with LNG fuel. The Wärtsilä 25DF engine - which is the most efficient and most environmentally friendly marine engine in its power range - has already set an industry benchmark for low methane emissions. The NextDF feature further reduces methane emissions, achieving as low as 1.1 per cent in a wide load range. “We carefully evaluated the fuel consumption and emission performance together with Wärtsilä, concluding that the Wärtsilä 25DF engine with the NextDF feature would best support us with achieving our sustainability goals,” - Jose Maria Torre Martinez, Fleet Director of Ibaizabal Group “The incorporation of our NextDF feature into the Wärtsilä 25DF engine provides enhanced fuel economy together with a significant cut in emissions. We share Ibaizabal’s commitment to decarbonising shipping operations and applaud them for being the first operator to take advantage of this new groundbreaking technology for the Wärtsilä 25DF engine,” - Stefan Nysjö, Vice President of Power Supply, Wärtsilä Marine For more information 👉 https://lnkd.in/eHKxtqum #PressRelease #decarbonisation #maritime #shipping
