🌍✨ Meet Biova Project, one of our partners in the Waste 2 Plate initiative! Based in Italy, Biova Project transforms food surplus — such as unsold bread — into new artisanal and sustainable beverages like beer and soft drinks. 🍺 Their work is a great example of circular economy applied to food, fighting waste and giving new life to resources that would otherwise be discarded. 🔗 Learn more about the project: www.biovaproject.com/en Emanuela Barbano Franco Dipietro The Waste 2 Plate project is supported by EIT Food, co-funded by the European Union. #Waste2Place #BiovaProject #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #Innovation #partnershipsthatinspire

This morning I had the honour of presenting the outcomes of the Waste to Want study, a European qualitative study about consumer acceptance of upcycled food products, to the participants of the Waste 2 Plate program. The dilemma: while many consumers support waste-reducing practices, their acceptance of upcycled food products - those made from surplus or unused ingredients - remains a challenge. As one participant said it: "nobody likes food waste, but nobody wants to eat garbage'. Our studies explores different narratives that can be used to appeal to different consumers. We’re excited to launch this latest EIT Food #ConsumerObservatory report. With a focus on reducing waste, affordability, healthiness, and taste, this report examines current consumer perceptions and offers key lessons for positioning upcycled food products for market. For actionable insights, download the report today 👇 https://bit.ly/3DLsD0V Thanks Sami Simreen, Giedrė Birmontaitė and Ester Wojasová for organising! Good luck to all the participants of the Waste2Plate program! 📣 Weekly founder's diary building Morrow 📣 Over the last few months I have done a lot of travelling and networking, and honestly, sometimes it feels a little daunting when you know you have another long week of travels ahead of you - but last week was yet another reminder of how crucial it is to balance deep focus at the desk with getting out there, connecting, and learning from others. 👥 I had the chance to spend a few days in The Hague - Europe’s "Impact City" (a title I have to say it truly lives up to!) - as part of the Waste 2 Plate initiative. Being surrounded by other founders and the wider community wasn’t just motivating, it also enabled me to critically assess where Morrow stands and what the most crucial next steps are for growth. 💡 For a while, I have been wrestling with how to tackle multiple essential steps at once. I want to reach the next milestones as fast as possible. But taking a step back, I realised that while several flywheels need to be spinning, one, in particular, requires my focus right now to keep everything else in motion. ⚙️ I am someone who has a thousand thoughts in their head at once, and also thrive multitasking, so prioritising one specific thing feels somewhat counterintuitive. I have also recognised that some of the milestones I have set might be too ambitious given our current capacity and resources, so re-assessing where we stand and what flywheel I need to spin right now, felt good. 💥 And it was a good reminder by Thomas Blekman, that success doesn't often happen from taking one giant leap - it’s about taking small steps, and moving forward (even if we don’t always see the outcome right away). 👣 #FoundersDiary #Morrow #BTS #TheHague #Waste2Plate #EITFood #KiCo #SmallSteps #Flywheel #Growth #NextSteps #Innovation #FoodTech
