  • What does it really take to be 100% cyber aware? At Monday’s Lunch & Talk, Evert van Essen from Brooklyn Partners shared why policies and awareness campaigns are not enough. To build a secure organisation, we need to focus on behaviour, habits and people. Here are five takeaways we are bringing back to work • People need clear tools and support, not just information • Security messages need to stand out in a busy workday • Training must be relevant and connected to daily tasks • Colleagues can lead by example as security ambassadors • Change takes time and understanding why people hesitate helps Cyber awareness is not just about knowing the risks. It is about acting on them together. Thanks to Evert for the great talk and for everyone attending! Stay updated on the next Lunch & Talks through our website https://lnkd.in/e_gseRYj

  • Last week, the HSD Campus was the place for the Cyber Ladies Meet-up, where professionals, students, and industry leaders gathered to discuss talent development and diversity in cybersecurity. All the Cyber Ladies and Municipality of The Hague organised the gathering in collaboration with Security Delta (HSD) and Women4Cyber The Netherlands. The event began with a tour of the Digital Forensics Labs at Hogeschool Leiden, followed by talks from Sarah B. (NATO Cyber Security Centre) and Simone Smit (Algemene Inlichtingen- en Veiligheidsdienst - AIVD) on career growth and the importance of diverse teams. A panel discussion with experts from HackShield Future Cyber Heroes, Umay Y. from PRODAFT, Henk Van Ee from Cyberbrain, and DIVD explored equity, training, and career opportunities in cybersecurity. It is fantastic to welcome initiatives like this at HSD Campus, helping to bring people together and foster innovation in the security industry. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ea7b6bwK

  • HSD Campus heeft dit gerepost

Today's first Lunch and Talk of 2025 at the HSD Campus was a great success, with a large turnout of attendees! Yannick Maltha, CEO of UbiOps - Private AI on any infra, shared insights into the latest GenAI models, including the newly launched Deepseek. He also answered questions from the Netherlands and Europe about whether closed-source or open-source solutions will lead the generative AI race. Yannick’s key takeaway was that while it's clear that the future is still uncertain, we are only at the beginning of this new AI space race. The debate raises important questions about what Europe can and should do to protect its long-term interests and reduce dependence on Big Tech. He also discussed the development of GenAI open-source models and frameworks, highlighting the increasing importance of concepts like Sovereign and Private AI in Europe with concrete examples. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬: ▶️ We are likely to see a hybrid mix of Public vs Private AI; it’s not an either/or situation. ▶️ Systems like ChatGPT are excellent for exploring AI's potential efficiently but leave European organisations exposed to risks. ▶️ Open-source is growing rapidly and is nearly on par with closed-source offerings like OpenAI. It provides greater control over model behavior and outcomes, is more cost-effective (lightweight), and is flexible enough to fine-tune with your own data—ensuring the models and data remain with you. ▶️ Organisations are shifting from a ‘cloud-first strategy’ to hybrid or even on-premise setups due to rising costs and compliance requirements. A big thank you to everyone who joined, and to Yannick Maltha for his captivating talk! Don’t want to miss out on future Lunch & Talks or other HSD events?
