PowerUp Grant Award Ceremony | 15th April 2025 Today, we had the opportunity to celebrate young micro-entrepreneurs who are driving change in the e-waste circular economy across various regions of Kenya. The #PowerUp project is committed to fostering inclusion by engaging men, women, and persons with disabilities in e-waste collection and electronics repair, with the goal of creating sustainable livelihoods. Through PowerUp, micro-entrepreneurs are equipped with safe e-waste handling practices, business development skills, and access to networks, markets, and finance. The project addresses the growing challenge of e-waste—the fastest-growing waste stream in the country—by strengthening the sector and unlocking economic opportunities through circular solutions. During the Grant Award Ceremony, 143 micro-entrepreneurs were awarded grants to launch and grow their enterprises. Entrepreneurs from across the Nairobi Metropolitan Area shared powerful stories of how they are overcoming challenges, building businesses from the ground up, and demonstrating that circular solutions can be both impactful and inclusive. A heartfelt thank you to our partners and Nairobi County Government—for their unwavering support and commitment to inclusive e-waste entrepreneurship. #CircularEconomy #Ewaste #PowerUp #Bopinc #YouthEntrepreneurship

Agriculture & agro-processing at the Bangladesh Investment Summit 🌾 Last week, we had the opportunity to attend the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 in Dhaka. The event looked at bringing together global and local to discuss the potential of Bangladesh’s agri-food sector. Key highlights for Bopinc: ▪️ Global partnerships: We connected with several international companies—many of them Dutch—opening up exciting opportunities for future collaboration in agriculture and agro-processing. ▪️ The Bangladesh government, through the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), demonstrated a strong commitment to attracting foreign investment with concrete reforms and investor-friendly policies. These discussions shared the vision for inclusive innovation that benefits smallholder farmers and impact-driven agri-entrepreneurs. Big thanks to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh, BIDA, and LightCastle Partners for bringing together such an engaged and forward-thinking community. At Bopinc, we’re proud to continue supporting Bangladesh’s growing economy—through partnerships, scalable solutions, and growing the potential of low-income markets. akm shihab uzzaman | Asif Mahmood Abbas #Bangladesh #DutchBangladeshPartnership #InclusiveInnovation #BangladeshInvestmentSummit2025

In the train 🚂 back from the Nutrition for Growth (N4G) summit in Paris. I attended the high-level event “Private Sector and Nutrition: Everyone’s Business”, hosted by ATNi (Access to Nutrition initiative), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and the Paris Peace Forum. In a period faced by severe funding cuts, leading to lethal impact (see link in comments), it felt essential we gathered as a community to rethink, recommit and step up our action. Bopinc included access to healthy diets for millions of low-income consumers in our 2030 Strategy. We're eager to bring our human-centric approach, our on-the-ground teams and innovation capabilities to the table to deliver this impact. I got specifically excited about: - The commitments made by partners like dsm-firmenich, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Groupe Nutriset and the European Commission 🚀 - The break-out session with Investors and DFIs (FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bank Proparco IFC - International Finance Corporation Mirova) showing increased integration of nutrition criteria for their investments 👏 - Meeting committed partners in person including Chris Kirby , Lucie Klarsfeld McGrath Yvonne Bakken, Marijke de Graaf and many more. And I really enjoyed having drinks with my former colleague Marine Buisson 🙂 A huge thank you to the Netherlands Working Group on international Nutrition (NWGN) and Netherlands Food Partnership for their support leading up to the summit. #NutritionForGrowth #N4G2025 #Bopinc
