Everyone deserves access to better healthcare. This #WorldHealthDay, we’re proud to support innovative health projects across Europe – turning ideas into real-life impact. Backed by EIB financing and EU programmes like #InvestEU and #HERAInvest, these projects are transforming healthcare: 🟢 In Spain, Universal Diagnostics S.A. is making blood tests that catch cancer early—when it’s still curable. 🟢 In Denmark, SNIPR Biome - A CRISPR Company is fighting antibiotic resistance with CRISPR-based treatments, a gene-editing technology that precisely targets and removes harmful bacteria. 🟢 In Poland, SDS Optic Inc.'s device can detect breast cancer in under an hour. 🟢 In France, Fabentech is preparing for future pandemics with powerful antibody treatments. 🟢 In Belgium, NOVADIP Biosciences S.A. is helping children with rare bone diseases avoid amputations. These companies are not just helping save lives: they’re making European health systems more resilient and accessible. We’re proud to stand with them.

A big step forward for sustainable finance in Europe: we have issued our first bond aligned with the EU Green Bond Standard (EuGBS). It’s the largest of its kind to date, at €3 billion, and the first issued by a supranational. We have been a green bond pioneer since 2007. This latest issuance builds on that leadership, by fully aligning with the EU Taxonomy and the EuGBS disclosure and verification requirements – bringing even greater clarity, integrity and comparability to the market. Bonds can only be labelled as European Green Bonds if all the following EU Taxonomy requirements are satisfied: ✔️ “Substantial contribution” to at least one of the EU Taxonomy environmental objectives ✔️ "Do not significantly harm" any of the other objectives ✔️ "Minimum safeguards" to ensure that certain minimum governance standards are met, and entities do not violate social norms, including human rights and labour rights ✔️ Meeting the technical screening criteria, which are set out in the Commission Delegated Acts. Proceeds from our new bond will be allocated EU Taxonomy-aligned projects, such as: ✔️ Transmission and distribution of electricity ✔️ Interurban and urban public transport. This landmark issuance confirms the gradual integration of the EU Taxonomy into our green finance strategy and sends a signal to the market on best practices in green bond issuance. 🔗bit.ly/EuropeanGreenBond

Morocco produces nearly half the world’s carob, but most of it is exported raw, a missed opportunity. SANTIS saw potential. Instead of selling raw pods, they invested in high-value processing, turning carob into a key ingredient for Nestlé, Kraft Heinz, and Unilever. With a €4.7 million loan from CIH BANK and our support, SANTIS expanded operations, created jobs, and empowered local farmers. It helped create: ✅Hundreds of jobs in rural areas ✅Thousands of carob saplings for small farmers ✅New hubs in the US and Netherlands ✅Solar investments cutting electricity costs by 50% Read more on how smart investment drives impact: https://bit.ly/Morocco_EIB
