We’re thrilled to share progress on our hotel renovation project in Hakuba, spanning a total of 1,500 sqm! Construction kicked off in July, and we’re excited to unveil the completed transformation next month. Working within a tight budget, we brought in vibrant touches of color and texture with fresh tiling, ceilings, joineries, custom lighting, and signage. A client approached VS Studio for the Shimoda office residence after feeling uncertain about the proposal from their local builder (Koumuten). In Japan, it’s common to work directly with local builders or house makers for both design and construction. However, these designs are often not fully customized, and the materials are usually very limited.
