We are thrilled to hear that Portugal will officially include Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) in its neonatal screening policies starting today. This significant advancement reflects our ongoing commitment to improving early detection and treatment of Immunodeficiencies. By advocating for this inclusion, we are one step closer to ensuring that affected infants receive timely interventions, ultimately enhancing their quality of life and health outcomes. We look forward to collaborating with healthcare providers and families to support this vital initiative and continue our mission in the fight against Immunodeficiencies side by side with patients’ associations and the medical community. A special thank you to all advocates who have worked tirelessly to make this happen. 🛡️ Protecting vulnerable populations beyond Rare Disease Day We are proud to announce the publication of a study on Aceruloplasminemia (ACP) in eBioMedicine, in collaboration with our partners Università di Pisa, Ospedale San Raffaele, Humanitas University, Humanitas Research Hospital. This research highlights our commitment to safeguarding the health of vulnerable populations affected by extremely rare diseases. ACP often goes undiagnosed, leaving patients without necessary care. This study enhances the understanding of the condition and improves prevalence estimates, emphasizing the critical need for early diagnosis and intervention. Meet Ariel, 25. She grew up assuming she’d never be able to go to college or live independently. Her story marks the launch of Rare but Real: our new way to tell patient stories. They’re not about triumph over adversity, but hard-won normality. About patients living life on their own terms, just like anyone else. And just like Rare Disease Day, they’re about raising awareness and generating change. P.S. Ariel’s a neuroscientist now. #rarebutreal #rarediseaseday2025

The Affianco project was born from the desire to listen, understand, and offer concrete support to those who too often feel alone. We immediately felt close to AIP's goal because Kedrion, like this association, is made up of people who put their hearts into their work, aware that research and innovation are fundamental, but that empathy and human connection are just as important. For these reasons, we are so proud of Affianco's victory for “Best Communication Campaign – nonprofessionals” at the OMaR Award, a prize that recognizes communication on rare diseases and rare tumors. Yesterday evening in Rome, we were deeply moved and excited to collect the award together. Given the proximity to #RareDiseaseDay, today we celebrate not only this achievement but, above all, the strength of a community that never gives up. This award is for all of them. For patients, their families, volunteers, plasma donors and the healthcare professionals who support these communities so closely every day. But it is also for all those who believe in a future where no one is left behind. Ilaria Ciancaleoni Bartoli Osservatorio Malattie Rare Silvia Casati

🌟 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐊𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧! 🌟 From February 10-13, Kedrion’s delegation (Duccio Manetti, PhD, Ferdinando Borgese, and Aleksandar Marinković) visited Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, to meet with government officials, physicians, and patient associations to discuss the current status and future prospects of plasma-derived therapies in the country. We were honored to meet with the Minister of Health, Khudayarov Asilbek Anvarovich; the Minister of Industry, Kudratov Laziz Shavkatovich; and the Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Abdulla Azizov . These meetings paved the way for future agreements and collaborations aimed at addressing the therapeutic needs of Uzbek patients with rare and ultra-rare diseases. We also visited the Hematology Center of the Pediatric Oncology Hospital. Engaging with physicians and patients always provides a powerful reminder of the importance of our ongoing mission to expand patient access to plasma-derived therapies worldwide. Thank you to the Italian Embassy in Tashkent for their invaluable assistance. #Collaboration #PatientCare

We are proud to partner with Pharmacosmos on #WorldAnemiaAwarenessDay. Our commitment to supporting patients in Italy affected by iron deficiency anemia is stronger than ever. Let's join together to raise awareness and improve the quality of life for those in need.
We want to change the way iron deficiency anaemia is prevented and treated. Many iron deficiency anaemia cases go undiagnosed[1]. The key to combating iron deficiency anaemia is awareness, early diagnosis and treatment[2]. Be vigilant about the symptoms of iron deficiency and consult a healthcare professional without delay. For more information on the symptoms and management of iron deficiency anaemia, read more here. https://lnkd.in/dU5siRCv Awareness leads to prevention and treatment, thereby saving lives. #anemia #anaemia #worldanemiaawarenessday #worldanaemiaawarenessday #anemiaawareness #anemiaprevention #anemiatreatment #awarenesssaveslives 1. Science isn't just about equations and experiments; it's about courage. It takes courage to challenge established ideas, to persevere through setbacks, and to stand tall in a world that sometimes whispers you shouldn't be here. Nisha Jain, our VP, Global Clinical Development, is here to tell you why #courage is the secret ingredient for a scientist. Spoiler alert: it's the courage to ask "why?" when others accept "how." It's the courage to raise your hand, share your ideas, and understand that your voice matters. Don’t allow anyone to dim your spark or tell you what you can’t achieve. Embrace the challenge, ignite your passion, and let your curiosity lead the way. #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience
