💧 💧 The Netherlands and Italy teaming up for the future of water! The start of our three-year public-private Partners for International Business programme couldn’t have been more inspiring and positive! We experienced two days filled with energy, thoughtful discussions, and engaged participants exploring potential collaborations to tackle water distribution challenges, groundwater management and modeling, flood prevention and energy consumption. The mission started in Milan with a meeting with Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Reinette Klever about the international ambition of the Dutch watertech sector and its footprint in Italy. A round table discussion with high-level Italian water experts followed before we delved into water governance, flood and risk prevention during a meeting with the Po river basin district Authority. We moved to Verona touring one of Europe’s largest drinking water plants dedicated to PFAS treatment and we ended up in Codognè (near Treviso) to discuss how we can work together with the local water utilities and operators to address the complexity of water management issues. A very big thank you to our Italian partners and contacts that made this first mission not only possible but a big success. Stay tuned for the forthcoming initiatives that will reach other Italian regions and to know more about the Dutch participating companies! These past few days in Milan have been all about creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. Reinette Klever, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, led a trade mission to Northern Italy with more than 30 companies in the Creative Industries and Yachting sector during the Milan Design Week. “The ’made in Italy’ label has a lot of prestige worldwide, as well as Dutch Design. Here, the Netherlands does not only showcase its talents in interior design, but it also leads the way in innovation and technology in yachting, as I saw with my own eyes. No better time to be here on a trade mission than during the world famous Design Week," said Minister Klever. During the trade mission, the participating companies have had the opportunity to network, strengthen partnerships and explore new opportunities in these dynamic industries. NL🤝IT Minister Klever also spoke with Dutch companies doing business in Italy about opportunities and challenges, including in the water technology sector. From building infrastructure for the 2026 Winter Olympics to improving Italy's drinking and wastewater system. The programme for the companies in the trade mission is still in full swing. The yachting delegation is also visiting Genoa, La Spezia and Livorno, while the companies in the creative industries sector will continue their programme in Milan. #MinBZ

"The axis between Italy and the Netherlands is strengthened at a crucial time for the economic and strategic future of the European Union. At the 'Reggia di Caserta', during the #VanWittelVanvitelli Dialogue - the traditional forum for dialogue between Italy and the Netherlands - Foreign Ministers Antonio Tajani and Caspar Veldkamp relaunched bilateral cooperation by focusing on business support, the growth of the European internal market, and the need to present a united front in the face of global geopolitical challenges". This wrote an Italian news agency today about the two-day event that brought together around 100 representatives from the academic, political and business communities of both the Netherlands and Italy. The focus of the gathering was on European strategic autonomy and strengthening technological capabilities and economic competitiveness. Day one centered on the current challenges in competitiveness and technological developments, featuring speakers from IAI - Istituto Affari Internazionali and The Clingendael Institute, the day's organizers, as well as experts from universities and ministries. On day two, the Italian-Dutch business forum took place, primarily with representatives from companies, focusing on industrial policies in critical sectors such as electronics, agriculture, and security. Both Foreign Ministers were present in the afternoon, engaging in discussions with entrepreneurs and holding extensive bilateral talks. This is a concrete step for the two founding members of the European Union to prepare for the future. #EUCooperation #NLinItaly Wytse Sonnema Karin Haaksman Chris Poppe Domenico Cristaudo Silvia Testa Thomas Grosfeld Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken Monika Sie Dhian Ho Nicoletta Pirozzi Rem Korteweg, PhD Maarten Smit Ralf Van De Beek Paolo Quercia Alberto Petrangeli Wouter B. This week, Italy colours orange. 🟠 The fourth edition of the #VanWittelVanvitelli Dialogue starts today in Caserta, in Southern Italy. This Dutch-Italian dialogue brings together experts, policymakers, and business professionals at the stunning Reggia of Caserta, designed by architect Luigi Vanvitelli, to strengthen Dutch-Italian strategic cooperation, Europe's competitiveness and response to geopolitical developments. Industrial policies in critical sectors such as high tech and agriculture, where both Italy and the Netherlands are global players, will be emphasized. The focus will also extend to security, defense and cyberspace, directly involving enterprises and institutional stakeholders from both countries. The high-level dialogue features a bilateral meeting between Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Caspar Veldkamp, and his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani. Looking forward to the insights and discussions that will shape future partnerships 🟠 Simultaneously, Minister Reinette Klever of Foreign Trade and Development is leading an economic mission to northern Italy focused on the creative industry and maritime/yacht building sector during the Milan Design Week. The trade mission promotes new business opportunities and strengthens relations between the two countries, as a contribution to a stronger Europe and a stronger European economy. Italy and the Netherlands share a passion for craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless design - especially in these two dynamic industries. Companies will meet potential business partners and clients and explore new market opportunities. NL🤝IT The participants to the yacht building mission will also visit Genoa, La Spezia and Livorno. 🌍💧 World Water Day 2025: Tackling Global Water Challenges Together This year’s World Water Day underscores the urgency of addressing global water challenges, including glaciers preservation and the broader impact of a disrupted water cycle. Climate change is causing more erratic rainfall and faster glacier melting, affecting water availability for all. The Kingdom of the Netherlands has a long history of water management. As a world leader in water management and technology -particularly in areas like drinking water, wastewater, coastal protection, and water purification- the Netherlands recognizes its unique opportunity and responsibility in tackling these issues. In Italy, running from 2025-2027, a project sponsored by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency will address key water management challenges such as drinking water, wastewater, and infrastructure. This initiative brings together Dutch water tech innovators to support the transformation of Italy’s sustainable water infrastructure. Working with a cluster of 8 Dutch companies, we willl be tackling together with Italian stakeholders critical water management challenges, building on mutual expertise and exploiting complementarities. Let’s work together to build a more sustainable water future. 🌊 Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development #WorldWaterDay #GlacierPreservation #NLWatertech2Italy Photo: Marieke Kijk in de Vegte

Yesterday the first meeting of the Semicon Coalition, initiated by our Minister Beljaarts of Economic Affairs, took place in Brussels. It brings together nine EU countries and the European Commission to drive change in this vital sector. We are proud of the initiative and thrilled that Italy takes part in it! As pointed out below by Italian Minister Urso of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Italy is a crucial partner. In a world where technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace, this collaboration is more than just a partnership—it’s a symbol of our collective strength and shared vision for a sustainable, secure, and innovative future. A big thank you to Italy for joining, looking forward to our future cooperation! See for more info and common statement: https://lnkd.in/dzR9xtPf Francesco Tenuta Teo Firpo Krishna S. Il ministro Adolfo Urso è intervenuto a #Bruxelles, a margine del #ConsiglioCOMPET, alla tavola rotonda sui #semiconduttori.
