We discussed tech’s past and future, gender equality and inclusion & belonging, and found common ground and interests personally. And of course discussed the data behind today’s volcano eruption. Today is Transgender Day of Visibility, a day to honor the folks living their lives as their authentic selves, creating safe policies to protect the rights of Trans folks, and leading through inclusion and education so that others may thrive without risk of harm or persecution. Thanks to Samtökin '78 (not on LinkedIn) and Trans Ísland for the work they do in Icelandic society to raise awareness, advocate for inclusive laws and policies, and fostering a safe community to Trans folks in Iceland. Thank you so very much, Vinnustofa Kjarval, for providing such an amazing space for our annual Int'l Women's Day STEMming event last weekend. The support from Rannís - The Icelandic Centre for Research-EDIH-IS - Miðstöð stafrænnar nýsköpunar was incredible and we thank Ingunn Sigurpálsdóttir for inspiring the attendees, and sharing the EDIH opportunities. Thanks to Taktikal, and Steindal Wholesale ehf. for the added support and bubbly beverages. A very special thanks goes out to Ósk Heiða Sveinsdóttir, WomenTechIceland Board member and CCO at Pósturinn, for serving at the event's MC (and rallying everyone to claim their rightful seats at the table!)
