Q1 2025 Climate Tech Investments – What’s Driving the Growth? 🚀 In Q1 2025, the climate tech sector witnessed over $8.4 Bn raised across 400+ funding rounds globally. The USA lead with $4.4 Bn, nearly 60% of the cumulative quarter’s funding raised, driving transformative innovation in energy storage, renewable energy, and mobility. Key Insights: 🔹India's Momentum: India closed Q1 with $370 Mn in climate tech funding, as March activity surged 2x over February, fueled by growing interest in mobility and energy storage solutions. 🔹Sector Highlights: Energy Storage & Efficiency emerged as the top-funded sector, with 102 deals, marking a significant uptick in investor confidence. 🔹Notable Global Investments: Recent funding in fusion energy and battery metals includes Helion Energy, backed by a fresh investment from Sam Altman, and KoBold Metals, which secured capital, backed by Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates. Funds in Focus: 🔹Brigade Real Estate Accelerator Program (REAP) & Rainmatter by Zerodha Capital’s The Earth Fund fueling the growing sector sustainable urbanization and real estate as highlighted by Nirupa Shankar. 🔹RevX Capital, with $86.6 Mn AUM, is fueling growth-stage climate ventures in India through non-dilutive debt, as highlighted by Sibadittya Baidya, VP, Investments 🔹Aiming to scale Green Hydrogen and Energy Transition efforts, Climate Fund Managers (CFM) rolled out a $163.5 Mn fund, as shared by Sebastiaan Surie, Head of Hydrogen. 🔹Shift4Good, led by Sebastien Guillaud, launched a $230 Mn fund to accelerate sustainable mobility and circular economy startups across South Asia and Europe.
