The final event in the recent series of County Community and Enterprise Support events takes place for Offaly on Tuesday April 8th in Kilcormac. The events focus on the supports available for communities and enterprises and is free and open to all, providing valuable insights into funding, mentoring, climate action initiatives, and training opportunities. Organised as part of the Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan Pathway for Just Transition programme, this initiative is designed to highlight the supports available to communities and enterprises in regions affected by the transition to a green economy. The Just Transition Fund aims to facilitate economic diversification, job creation, and social inclusion by providing financial and advisory support to enterprises, workers, and communities adapting to a low-carbon future The Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan Pathway for Transition is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund Programme 2021-2027. This project is a collaborative initiative of the Local Authorities of the Midlands region, with Laois as the lead partner, alongside Longford, Offaly, and Westmeath. The Local Government Operational Procurement Centre (LGOPC) has published a new Call for Tender (CfT) on www.etenders.gov.ie (eTenders) to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System for Building Contractors for Non-Residential Minor Building Works (the DPS). When established, Public Service Bodies (including local authorities) will run Supplementary Request for Tenders (mini-competitions) with the Economic Operators admitted to the DPS. To access the DPS tender documents please ensure you register on the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) website www.etenders.gov.ie and search for this tender using the CfT Resource ID number 4755787 ℹ️ Application Process: All Applications for admittance to the DPS must be completed electronically on www.etenders.gov.ie. The application process on eTenders will remain open after the Initial Application Period Deadline passes and will continue to remain open to new and previously unsuccessful applications over the period of validity (term) of the DPS. ℹ️ Initial application period deadline: 17th April 2025 (5 pm) ℹ️ Electronic submissions through www.etenders.gov.ie ℹ️ It is anticipated the DPS will be established for a minimum period of five years. Offaly County Council wish to remind all Landowners of their responsibilities regarding monitoring, managing and mitigating potential risks that may arise from the management of their roadside trees. The Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine recently shared ‘A Guide for Landowners to Managing Roadside Trees’ which provides a step-by-step process for landowners.
