Our Programme and Community Manager Ayesha Syeddah represented Team GORM at the Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Forum 2025, hosted by Coimisiún na Meán — a powerful day of reflection, research, and real talk about the future of inclusive media in Ireland. Reflecting on the day Ayesha said; “Data isn't just a statistic, it's a story. Accurate, intentional data is the baseline for meaningful change — and overlooking it means we're just guessing. At GORM, we’re still young but powerful. Our vantage point, rooted in community, creativity and evidence-based practice, continues to reveal both the challenges and the real opportunities shaping inclusion in Ireland today." #DiversityAndInclusion #DEILeadership #InclusiveMedia #DataDrivenInclusion #RepresentationMatters

GORM reposted this
Today I had the amazing opportunity to step in and intern with GORM Media alongside their amazing CEO and founder Mamobo Ogoro in attending Wexford Local Developments social enterprise networking conference. Being from Wexford myself, I’m incredibly proud to see the remarkable efforts and dedication of social enterprises in Wexford. Their unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the community is truly inspiring. From innovative solutions to addressing local challenges to fostering sustainability and inclusivity, these organisations are driving real change in the county. I was able to bare witness to some truly inspirational founding stories of some social enterprises and how they were inspired to begin what they’re doing. As a Graduate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation myself, I can admit that social enterprises are often overlooked and misunderstood by many, but through attending this conference, their importance in society has never been more evident. Amazing job to Helena Dempsey and Wexford Local Development for putting this amazing conference together!! #socialimpact #empoweringcommunities #socialenterprise

If one person is always the ‘diversity voice’ in your team—it’s not inclusion, it’s imbalance. Cáit’s team is thriving—diverse, dynamic, full of potential. But one day, Amina, the team lead, pulls her aside saying, “I’m tired of being the go-to diversity spokesperson.” It’s one of those leadership moments where good intentions miss the mark. Being asked to represent can feel like a compliment—until it becomes a burden. No one should carry the emotional weight of being the only voice for an entire community. That’s where GORM’s Embedding Anti-Racism in the Workplace training comes in. we give leaders the tools to: ✅ Spot systemic inequities—and take action to fix them. ✅ Create real, inclusive policies—not performative gestures. ✅ Support diverse voices—without putting them on display. Leadership isn’t about giving the spotlight. It’s about sharing the stage. 👉 Ready to lead with intention and impact? Ever given feedback and got NOTHING back… or worse, a dirty look? It’s probably not what you said—it’s how you said it. Different cultures, different rules, and if you’re not clocking them, you’re setting yourself up for chaos. Want to give feedback that actually lands (without causing international incidents)? If your “constructive feedback” keeps landing like a lead balloon, we need to talk. What’s “straight to the point” in one culture might be rude in another. What’s “polite” in your world might sound fake elsewhere. If you’re leading a diverse team, you can’t afford to get this wrong. Time to upgrade your feedback game.
