This year, we will say thank you and farewell to Brian O'Gorman as Chief Executive of Clúid. Brian tells us “After 30 years with Clúid I will be retiring this year. It has been a genuine privilege to have worked alongside so many extraordinary people and met so many remarkable residents and partners. It is pleasing to witness the growth in scale and influence of housing associations across social, affordable, supported and age-friendly housing.“ Brian has always worked in the not-for-profit housing sector, starting with Threshold where his focus was supporting people in the private rented sector as well as mortgage arrears and the issues following the de-control of private tenancies. He then moved to the homeless charity Focus Ireland working in housing policy. Later, he studied housing at the Ulster University and joined Clúid as the organisations first employee in 1994. Brian has been the CEO of Clúid since 2000 and has been keen to contribute to the wider Approved Housing Body sector in Ireland, attempting to shape national policy for the benefit of the communities we serve as well as future residents. Clúid now houses some 32,000 residents. Brian continues, “The advertisement seeking a new CEO for Clúid is now live. I will miss being part of the next chapter but will be ‘cheering from the sideline’ as Clúid continues to flourish. I will be leaving with a renewed belief in the benefits of homes and services provided by non-profit housing associations. To me, housing association activity, in developing a sizeable number of homes made available to serve successive generations of Irish households, is the route to a stable and thriving housing sector.” On behalf of all past and current members of the Clúid team, we would like to say thank you for your determination, leadership and passion over the years and wish you the very best for the next chapter. #Clúid #LeadingTheWayHome

The team at Clúid were thrilled to bring together residents and members of the wider community in Radharc Binn Ghaire, Letterfrack, Co Galway recently. Brian O'Gorman, Clúid Chief Executive Officer, unveiled a plaque, created by technicians at the neighbouring Atlantic Technical University Connemara, marking the native Irish oak tree planted as part of Clúid’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Children from the local creche searched for pollinators on the green, while the adults enjoyed a chat and planted window boxes to bring a dash of colour into their homes this spring. Brian remarked, “This is a beautiful scheme, where the residents have really come together to create a strong and supportive neighbourhood, knitted into the fabric of the wider community. This intergenerational scheme is a great example of the kinds of mixed communities Clúid is delivering, so I’m delighted to be celebrating our 30th anniversary here” #Clúid #LeadingTheWayHome #30Anniversary #Celebrate #PocketForest #Letterfrack #Galway #Community Pocket Forests CLG

OHMG Ltd is extremely proud to have delivered Dúiche Roden as Clúid’s Main Contractor – a transformative residential development providing 133 high-quality homes for families in Dundalk. It’s fantastic to see this project recognised at the ICE Awards and even more rewarding to hear the positive feedback from residents like Emma. A huge thankyou to Clúid Housing on leading this exemplar scheme through their Developer Design & Build process. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Clúid, Sonas, Van Dijk Architects and Louth County Council to bring this vision to life. Creating safe, sustainable communities is what it’s all about – congratulations to all involved and good luck at the Awards Ceremony! 👏👏👏👏🏡🏡🏡 #OHMG #Clúid #ICEAwards2025 #Dundalk #NewHomes #HousingForAll.
We're thrilled that Dúiche Roden in Dundalk, a collaboration with O’Hare McGovern with van Dijk, Sonas and Louth County Council is a finalist in the Residential Social & Affordable category at this years Irish Construction Excellence Awards (ICE Awards). Dúiche Roden provides secure, high-quality homes for 133 families from Louth County Council’s housing list. The scheme was delivered using Clúid’s bespoke Developer Design and Build process, whereby Clúid purchased the site and entered into a developer agreement with Sonas, who then managed the design and construction of the project utilising Clúid's Design Guide. The project has benefited from support from Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Finance Agency plc, The Housing Agency Ireland and Louth County Council. Emma, a resident of Dúiche Roden, said: “We’ve been living in Dúiche Roden for a while now, and I have to say, the location is great. Everything is right at your doorstep – the local park, the shopping centre and the main town centre are all within walking distance. The estate itself is nice and quiet. This morning, Susie Leacy (Chief People Officer) and Eleanor Hession (People Experience Manager) joined WorkMatters and Brightwater for an honest and energising conversation about managing workload in people teams during times of change. Susie shared how the people team at Clúid has been working differently - bringing in agile rhythms, transparent planning, and people-first approach to reduce stress, increase impact and embed our values and culture. Eleanor brought the teams voice to life, showing how these changes have created more focus, more trust and a stronger partnership across the organisation. Thanks to Brightwater for creating space to share and learn with our peers. #Clúid #LeadingTheWayHome #HRInPractice #BuildingStrength #PeopleFirst #BrightwaterBreakfast
