It is a beginning and it is a wrap…. The beginning of a 6 weeks exhibition to celebrate the centenary of our unique Maison here in China. The wrap of nearly two years of work with an extraordinary team to think, design and make come to life the dream we all had of making an exhibition of an Italian textile company from Valsesia in one of the most prestigious museum in the world. This is a truly significant milestone—not only for the Maison but also for our deep and enduring relationship with China. Loro Piana’s love story in China began 39 years ago. In 1986, a young man named Pier Luigi Loro Piana ventured out from the small town of Quarona and embarked on their first journey to Inner Mongolia, traveling in a small car through endless stretches of land, heading toward the unknown. What started as a search for the finest cashmere quickly became something much more profound—a journey of trust, of craftsmanship, and of partnership. From that moment on, the bond between Loro Piana and the breeders in China was no longer just about sourcing raw materials; it became a collaboration built on mutual respect and a shared quest of excellence. Yesterday and the days before were filled with pride, joy, deep emotion and the satisfaction to have pushed the limits of what we thought possible. And I believe all of us will keep for ever this feeling in our hearts. The Maison’s very first exhibition, If You Know, You Know. Loro Piana’s Quest for Excellence, lands in Shanghai. A city where history meets innovation.    Embedded within Shanghai’s dynamic Lujiazui Riverside, Museum of Art Pudong (MAP) is a landmark in the making, the ideal platform for Loro Piana’s nuanced and heritage-steeped story – underlining the House’s indelible ties to China.    The exhibition is open from 22nd March to 5th May 2025, from 10:00 to 21:00.
