[Insight] When drones take to the skies, EASA specific category operations require a Specific Operational Risk Assessment (SORA) before getting approval to fly. ✅ ❓What is SORA? It’s a detailed methodology developed by JARUS and used to carry out a risk assessment, propose mitigation measures, and demonstrate compliance. We’ve come a long way since the first SORA was developed, and a new version 2.5 is now awaiting implementation by the European Aviation Safety Agency in the form of AMC (Acceptable Means of Compliance). [Breaking news] Egis announces key appointments and organisational changes within the Group.   To boost our Group's development and meet the ambitions of our #ImpactTheFuture strategic plan, Laurent Germain, Group CEO, announces the following changes: - New geographic organization: from 4 to 5 regions. - 7 flagship appointments to strenghten the Group's resources and management. 🌍 From 4 to 5 regions: To maintain the strong momentum of our business in the different geographical areas, the Group is moving from a 4-region organization to a 5-region organization: - France, - Europe/Africa, - Middle East & South Asia, - The Americas (including North and South America), - Asia-Pacific (including Asia, Australia & New Zealand). This change will meet our development challenges, particularly in North America and Australia/New Zealand. ✍ 7 flagship appointments To meet our ambitions, Laurent Germain is strengthening our resources and management and announces the following appointments: - Alaa AbuSiam, previously CEO of the Middle East and South Asia (MESA) region, has been appointed CEO of the Americas region. He is a member of the Group's Executive Committee. - Frederico Justus, who served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Middle East & South Asia region, succeeds Alaa Abusiam as CEO of this region. He is a member of the Group's Executive Committee. - Pierre-Yves Massille, previously Chief Transformation, Digital & Sustainability Officer, has been appointed CEO of the Consulting & Operations Business Line. He is a member of the Group's Executive Committee. - Frédéric Nicolon, previously Director of M&A Integration, has been appointed Chief Transformation, Digital & Sustainability Officer. [Breaking News] Egis has been awarded the general project management contract of the TEOL (Tramway Express de l’Ouest Lyonnais) by SYTRAL Mobilités in Lyon, France! 💡 The TEOL project, in summary: - 50,000 to 55,000 passengers expected per day, - it aims to link the west of the metropolis to its central district, - it includes a 3 km tunnel section and 2 underground stations. 👷♀️👷♂️ The project also requires a high level of technical expertise: - The tunnel features an 8% gradient and has to be built in the complex geotechnical and hydrogeological context of the Balmes slope, with particularly limited construction site areas, - The construction of a ventilation and emergency access shaft at a depth of more than 70 metres - The construction of a new bridge over the Saône river, also incorporating active mode pathways 🚴♀️. Egis is the leader of the consortium formed with gautier (landscape architect for surface developments), ATELIER SCHALL (architect for the Point du Jour station) and Grimshaw (architect for the Charcot-Provinces station). We will be in charge of all the design and construction phases, from preliminary design to commissioning of the full TEOL infrastructures and systems, excepting the bridge, the rolling stock and the centralized systems. Proud to leverage our multidisciplinary expertise, including geotechnics and civil engineering of underground structures, tramway system design, design of underground station public buildings, environmental engineering, structural engineering, and road and utilities! We are excited to collaborate with our partners to deliver this ambitious project and improve mobility in the Lyon metropolis! 🚊
