Employee rights and representation

As an employer, it’s important to understand any obligations to establish representative staff structures and to inform and consult employees on decisions that impact them.

Make sure you treat jobseekers from other EU countries the same as applicants from your country. You must also provide the same working conditions for your staff, regardless of their EU country of origin, and you cannot discriminate because of gender, racial or ethnic origin, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation.

You must provide reasonable accommodation to employees with disabilities. This way, they can apply, perform and advance in job functions and undertake training. Under EU law, the right to reasonable accommodation extends to all work-related activities.
